War, so long as human nature is as it is, is an inevitability.
Sure, bullshit wars like Iraq and Vietnam were pointless exercises in geopolitical pissing contests. But WWII, to stop the mass genocide of an entire peoples, not a bad reason to go to war.
The Allies had their demons, to be sure. The US was practicing state eugenics while fighting an empire of engenists in a grand and terrible irony. But no one with a brain would claim that the “diplomatic approach” was appropriate to deal with the Nazis. Nor is “peace” a good way to deal with the current crop of Neo Nazis.
War is a terrible exercise, but there are times when warfare is needed. A just war is one waged against an unjust enemy. Does not mean it will be clean, hence why war crime laws and codes of warfare exist.
