I also thought that “spending money to help the poor using government programmes” is a form of socialism, aside from “some parts are owned by the gov to prevent one citizen or group from hoarding it (like water, energy, public roads)”. The government doesn’t have to own everything or all businesses to be “socialist”, as that system would be more closer to the Soviets’ system, a different kind of socialism (also known as “state capitalism”).

I saw it. But that’s about 10% of his fanclub, and a whole bunch of others spend more time calling that sort of talk “socialism”.
 
Then you got the Christians who seem to think life starts at conception but ends at birth, who vote to dismantle social safety nets and worsen the adoption system by trying to prevent gays and lesbians from adopting.
 
Or the Christians that spend most of their time complaining how the gays, jews, blacks, muslims, atheists, etc. are somehow destroying their lives. Or the one’s who seem to ignore the pro-medical parts of the bible and claim jesus said not to get the vaccine.
 
 
Fact of the matter is, for every church doing the right thing, there’s a fair bit more assholes doing the wrong thing.
 
 
And don’t pull a scotsman out of your ass and say they “aren’t real Christians”. Cause if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and swears at gays like a duck, it’s a duck.

I think you’re just exposed to only a small portion and pushing that view on all Christians though. I’ve never spoken to a Christian who said helping others is socialism, I’ve never even heard of a Christian saying that.

The abortion part makes sense for a Christian, but those that are trying to discredit and stop homosexuals from adopting are wrong and doing damage, that part is true, same as the minority focused on “how the gays, jews, blacks, muslims, atheists, etc. are somehow destroying their lives. I don’t agree with this at all. I think you’ve just had bad experiences so now you notice when these Christians are doing anything, but don’t notice the daily good work that is done. It would make sense, how much time is the news really going to spend on Christian soup kitchens? Christian homeless shelters? Not much because it isn’t newsworthy. But a preacher claiming the gay muslims are taking over America? He gets time because he is crazy.
 
Sorta like how Republicans will never notice the good work muslims do, only focused on the bad stuff.

It’s really not as easy and searching the bible for a mention of the word. It’s more trying to understand the meaning behind the teachings then trying to apply them. Then over hundreds of years Christian thinking on the topic and all of it’s tertiary subjects has evolved. I don’t think anyone here is a Christian theologian so if you’re really interested I’d say go to a local Catholic Church to bug them (I’m pretty sure they still require their priests to be college educated at least).

Online, some people consider communist countries as “experiments of socialism”, even if they ended up being repressive (like the USSR and North Korea), capitalist (like China), or deviant (again, like NK).
 
I would rather not accept calling a country an “experiment”, especially if it’s a repressive dictatorship - might as well avoid “experimenting” more extreme and militant forms of government. By that “experiment” logic:
 
Iraq, South Vietnam, Libya, and Afghanistan might also be “experiments of capitalism/Americanisation/democracy”  
Chile and Nazi Germany are “experiments of fascism”  
Taliban Afghanistan and Pakistan are “experiments of Islamism”.
 
If anyone still goes ahead with some deadly “experiment”, they better pay compensation to the victims. Bastards like Nazis, slave masters, murderers, and corrupt leaders don’t count as “victims” to me. But no, those Internet people won’t do it, preferring to move forward with more carnage.

Can somebody explain me if the Taliban and the ISIL-K are fighting eachother? Is the Taliban “allies” of US now? And if so. What will happen? Is some nation going to support one of the two? I guess the bombing of Kabul has pissed the Taliban too, now that they have the control of Afghanistan.
 
I have no idea about politics and I guess you guys know better than me. The only thing I know is that over there seems like a deadmatch-styled shitfest, oh, and someone (Don’t remember who) that said that they will help the Taliban.

Having an islamist ideology doesn’t make armed groups instant allies. Already in Syria and Iraq, ISIS and Al-Qaeda were at odds with each other.

But to juxtapose the rise of stock prices and therefore a certain amount of ppl raking in millions of dollars while millions of Amrikan lose jobs and homes due to the pandemic, is a dichotomy symptomatic of late stage capitalism.
