Yep, it really happened. Police “reforms” are now in the hands of the guy who wrote the 94 crime bill and the lady who enforced it to its fullest extent in Cali, both of which contributed to a police culture that led to BLM. There is no hope of meaningful police reforms at this point, unless there’s a hail-Mary pass and Jo Jorgensen or Howie Hughs gets elected. Sure, a lot can be done at the state and local level, but with the FBI, ATF, DHS, and ICE in the hands of the feds, those changes won’t be felt.

I just realized something, our government is full of boobs who don’t know what the fuck they’re doing, so that means there’s a very real possibility that Aliens have indeed visited this planet and the government is just covering it up and sticking their heads in the sand and hoping that it’ll go away because they can’t do anything about it.

I don’t agree that she was only picked because of her skin color. I think they deliberately chose someone who hit him hard during the debates, to create a “Team of Rivals” atmosphere without giving any ground to the progressive wing. The campaign was really playing up that performance toward the end, making it seem like it would be so hard to forgive, so that when it is forgiven, he gets to look all statesmanlike and shit.

Saying she was “only” chosen for her skin color is going too far. She’s a sitting Senator, is fairly charismatic, has decent name recognition, and having already participated in the primaries, has undergone enough vetting/media scrutiny that there probably won’t be any surprise scandals.

Yes it is. Country was built by whites and American cultural values are white European ones. Do you think Xinjiang will be the same once the Uyghur majority are replaced by the Han Chinese? Do you think Kashmir will be the same once Hindus push Muslims out? Do you think the culture and traditions they built should be destroyed?

Country was built by immigrants (some considered white at the time, some added later) on the back of slaves and the graves of natives. And cultural values are transferable - if they’re worth transfering.

In related news, if Biden wins then that means Gov. Newsom has a big decision to decide who replaces Harris’ senate seat.

This country was built by whites, not by slaves, who barely made America money and certainly not by Natives. This country was not the same when Natives were annihilated and it won’t be the same when we’re gone either. It’ll be much worse.

Lmao. Literally addressed nothing I said. If slavery was such a big boon for the US economy, why didn’t the economy implode when it was abolished? There is little evidence to suggest that slavery was the backbone of the US economy in the 19th Century. The US economy simply did not experience the kind of catastrophic loss we should expect from abolition in that case, instead it was around 4% which it quickly recovered according to US GDP estimates by Johnston and Williamson’s and wealth that was created was often stuck in the slave system. Cotton is really the only substantive thing people can come up with.

Kamala Harris may not have been picked entirely because she is a black woman, but I believe it was definitely a factor. Biden thinks he can tap into identity politics nonsense and fool voters into thinking he’s progressive. I’ve thought about that question quite a bit, and I have a theory.
 
For most of her career, Hillary was vilified as a wild-eyed socialist agitator. She probably saw Bernie running to her left in the primaries as an aberration from this trend. She certainly sees herself as being on the more liberal side of the spectrum. From this perspective, Kaine might have been seen as a way to balance the ticket.

It clearly did benefit the South since the preservation of the institution was chief among the motivations for the creation of the Confederacy.
