I know she’s not as progressive as some people here prefer, but I like Warren. She’s been one of my top picks for nominee (alongside Sanders) since this whole thing started, and it’s nice to know she’s still doing fairly well.

I’d rather have Sanders, but if I’m being honest, after seeing her destroy Bloomberg I feel more confident with her

What I find amusing is that there have been a few reports out of the Consevr-o-sphere about “the RNC is out-raising the Dems!”
 
Which is true, but with a major caveat.
 
Yes, the RNC itself is raising more money than the DNC, but when you look at a candidate by candidate level the story changes. Dem candidates are out-raising and out-spending rep ones hand over fist. The RNC is raising capital on a confirmed nominee, while the dems still have their big capital split 5 ways.
 
They’re also making a big fuss about a “record” number of GOP candidates running, and comparing it to the dems in 2018. Except they are ignoring a few factors.
 

Warren is so fake. I don’t like Bernie and his policies, but atleast he is honest with his socialism.

Warren is pretty progressive and very consumer friendly - the latter particularly being exemplified with her creating the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
 
Her only real problem is that she employs advisors and surrounds herself who are very much not progressive or have very much the opposite of consumer friendliness in mind. So she lets weasels and vipers whisper their venom into her ear and tempt her away from her good ideas.
 
She is genuinely one of the best candidates to have/be running for office, so yeah I’m glad to know she’s doing well.

Another problem for the Reps was reports that all that money they’re raising? It’s going to be funneled straight to certain reelection campaigns such as Moscow Mitch’s. Several incumbents in toss up districts are going to left high and dry just so the big guys, even if they are otherwise in safe elections, get an easier pass.

oh god no. Warren is a poltician who is more then willinh to lie and put on a persona that she thinks will get her ahead in life. She did it with her ancestry and did it to Bernie this election cycle.

The DOW and S&P are being hammered by a mix of bad things.
 
Coronavirus is one, but it would be too easy to blame it for the slide.
 
Problem 1 is that the virus basically killed Trump’s phase one trade deal. The import/export lock-down of the Asian markets means that China will miss all of the benchmarks set in the deal, including the agri buy. The disruption is also smashing trade markets that were already reeling from the trade war.
 
Problem two comes in two flavors, with the Markit Services PMI and Manufactures Average (yeilds measuring the strength of the service sector and manufacturing sector respectively) showing their weakest earnings since 2013 and 2011.
 
Problem three, the long-bond yields tanked the hardest they’ve tanked since the great recession, as investors flee flagging stocks into safer bonds.
 
I said it two years ago, the biggest problem with Trumps econ approach is that it leaves us little room to deal with unexpected disasters. Slow and steady growth may be, well, slow, but it is insulated from major fluctuations. Trump’s style leaves us vulnerable when things like outbreaks and crashing PMI’s happen.

I give her ancestry thing a pass because she grew up thinking she did have native ancestry, and blood tests revealed that she in fact does…some 4-6 generations back. So it was a weird kerfuffle for her to make but considering she’s also responsible for charities meant to specifically help downtrodden Natives, I say she’s still genuine in her respect for nativity.
 
Both her backtracking on initial policies and her attacks on Bernie started not long after she started employing former Obama employees as well as taking advice from, wait for it, Hillary Clinton herself. So yes, I’m will to let her off the hook as just gullible while blaming her pivot away from progressiveness on the advice of wolves.

The problem wasn’t that she just thought she was native american, but that she used it to her advantage. Even if she did have native american blood, which all that test proved was that she had as much as the average american, she obviously didn’t have the same issues in life actual native americans have had.
 
As for her policies, first she has a history of dumb populist policies and bullying people. She once lied to get a Brookings Institute researcher fired because he dared to write a report that opposed her. Second, even if we assume her slimy history doesn’t exist, and that everything you said is true, then she is gullible and easily manipulated.

Matt Gaetz was on the View a few days ago. Naturally it was a embarrassing display from a shameless sycophant, but 2 moments stood out. The first was Gaetz saying that Trump should pardon Roger Stone outright. The second was him saying, in defense of Trump’s habitual overreach of power, that Americans still hold a reverence to the concept of a monarchy.
 
I want that last part played in all government meetings if a Democrat is the current president.

Guy’s a dink, but he’s not wrong that the American presidency was inspired by the British monarchy. There’s even a book about it: The Royalist Revolution, by Hahvahd professor Eric Nelson. But with the benefit of hindsight, that seems more like a bug than a feature. Part of the reason we have all those DOJ procedures around pardons is to ensure that they aren’t decided by who best can flatter the king.

Dindu Nuffins are creatures who often find themselves in trouble with the law. When apprehended by the police for their frequent crimes, a Dindu Nuffin will make the following statement: “AY BRO WE DINDU NUFFIN MAN!”
 
Dindu Nuffins display the following traits:  
-unemployed; refuses to work  
-at least 2 illegitimate children from different partners  
-absent father  
-leeches off the welfare system  
-dropped out of high school to be educated in “Tha Streets”; refuses to continue their education despite numerous Affirmative Action programs they could take advantage of  
-has outstanding warrants for their arrest  
-sells drugs; considers it acceptable as a full-time substitute for a job  
-uses the term “nigga” at least 500 times a day but confronts any non-black person who says the word  
-has little to no respect for society at large and the police in particular  
-proud owner of a black market firearm that they will show off on social media  
-supplements their drug-dealing income by robbing gas stations  
-travels in a group of fellow Dindu Nuffins for intimidation; this only serves to make the Dindu Nuffin a bigger target for law enforcement  
-Blames white people for their problems  
-tarnishes the African-American community’s reputation with their continued existence
 
When one of their brethren goes to prison, Dindu Nuffins will blow up social media with tweets which say things like “Free my mans he didnt do nothin” or “racist pigs locked up the homie”  
On COPS last night they arrested a Dindu Nuffin after four CCTV cameras and fifteen witnesses saw him rob a gas station. As they dragged him away in cuffs, the Dindu Nuffin screamed expletives at the officers and said he ”dindu nuffin”.

This is a tricky problem: racism is still a problem in the US, but each side is willing to use whatever they can to attack the other side while being perfectly willing to use their own side as a shield against being attacked.
 
The result is that everyone ends up looking like shit and nothing gets done.

Sanders just destroyed another argument against him.
 
The establishments latest attack was that his previous praise of people like Castro would hurt him among Latino votes, particularly ones from Central America.
 
Nevada just proved that to be a premature assumption, as Sanders just rode a wave of enthusiastic Latin support to a solid victory.
