You and I see very different things when we read the post I replied to, don’t we? Because I don’t see you saying anything about “racists, rapists, N@Zs”, or identifying them as who you are talking about. Maybe be more clear about who you are talking about, when you complain about, as you say, “people”. Because normally when you say stuff like that, “people” means “Americans”.

A lot of things are happening in USA that many, perhaps half of the people here, will find troubling. But it’s not all bad news. Good people are still in positions that balance the presidency.

Don’t get distracted by all the flash bang grenades.

For those not sure what this exchange means for the executive order, Trump’s “Muslim Travel Ban” was blocked in 2017 because it displayed “animus”. Which Trump and his administration should know. So they created the order and publicized it knowing it would sink as soon as it hit water.

It’s all a show for the faithful. It’s not expected to work or change anything except perhaps to move the Overton window and embolden or further radicalize some nut cases.

It’s just to create the illusion that Trump is fulfilling election promises. It’s mid-term electioneering. The advertising for that election is already running. All of these will be on the list of “Republican accomplishments”, even though most of them will fail at launch.

1. They’d rather have peace with the billionaire tech bros…than wage a struggle to get their money out of politics, have campaign finance reform, and tax their obscene and unearned wealth.
2. A wing of the Democratic Party actually supports the substance if not style of what Musk is doing, accepting the argument of bureaucratic excess and the need to stop “waste.”
3. The legacy of Clintonian triangulation and the corporate-centered rightward pull of the New Democrats means their top campaign consultants for a generation have been insulated, isolated, and utterly incapable of being left populists.
4. The legacy of Obama was that a coalition based upon “demographic destiny” would win elections in perpetuity as long as they were not Republicans. This not only bred inertia; it meant that in 2016, they were caught unaware by how much this country was becoming unglued.
5. In 2025, marching lockstep behind Israel means defending ethnic cleansing, war crimes, and billions in weapon sales so they continue unhampered. It’s also taking the opposite position of what their potential voters, particularly young voters, want to see.
6. Democrats are allergic to raising people’s expectations, and as a result, they cannot solve problems.
