But then again, as the Overton Window shifts more and more into the abyss of fascism, we’re eventually going to see points of view such as “The Far Left is anyone that doesn’t worship my God-Emperor, regardless of their actual political affiliation”, extending it to absolutely everyone that hasn’t drank the Kool-Aid.

The only people that spout out talking points on the political left of the spectrum have been deplatformed a long time ago. All we have now are right wingers, extreme right wingers, and those trying to navigate inbetween and do “just a little fascism”, the so-called centrists.

Are you familiar with Star Wars? Disney went all in with this stuff on it. Men turns useless, women take charge, each movie/show have quotas of people that need to be filled, themes that must be present or are banned etc. Used to be fun but is now kind of a bore to watch. Should make tons of money but now has to cancel shows since people don’t watch them. My go to example when the question is asked.

It obviously informed the setting going in that direction. They couldn’t take the story in the direction they wanted (racism being a HUGE problem baked into everything in the world) in modern Equestria - they had to trample everything in the setting to make it a possible plot.

There are other things not even related to politics I dislike much more about G5, and some things I like about it. But I feel like the most shoe-horned things, such as Twi voluntarily putting all the magic in the unity crystals etc, are probably mainly present to try and push a political message.

The outrage over The Last Jedi was largely manufactured by far-right influencers, as it only ticked up in the weeks after the initial release and rave reviews, pushed by a bunch of Comicsgate veterans who wanted to pull more fandoms rightward. There was a LOT of dishonesty in the characterization, which you are parroting.

And the biggest mistake Disney made was caving to that faux outrage and retconning everything in The Last Skywalker, which was a groveling apology to the Reddit-brained jackasses offended over there being too many women in their space wizards movie, and it was received about as well as could be expected to that end.

I have no clue what the frick you’re talking about otherwise, and it leads me to believe you’re just pushing a political line of your own. But it would seem that Disney is listening to it, hence why they’re blaming Lightyear’s poor performance on the gay kiss (ignoring everything else wrong with the film), and pressuring Pixar to avoid queer positive theming in Inside Out 2.

Regardless, nobody responding to my prompt has yet to beat the “I get mad when I see someone other than a straight white guy in charge” allegations.

Now, if the adults can resume use of this thread, I see the New York Times is continuing its push to blame culture war issues on Harris’s loss. Latest op-ed from Nicholas Kristof claiming that Harris and Democrats more broadly are more focused on “pronouns and purity.”

Like, dude what? The only person on the campaign trail banging on about pronouns was Trump.

EDIT TO ADD: Yes, I am aware that one survey put culture war issues in third place in a list of reasons swing voters were turned off Harris. However, how distant is that third place, and has it been replicated in other studies yet?
