Well, I did my part for democracy. I’m in Florida, so it may be pissing into the wind, but with pot and abortion on the ballot, there’s always a chance.

Though American democracy does need change. Like automatic voter registration and also make personal ID’s easier to obtain for citizens.
A more controversial change that I think should happen is inalienable voting rights. This mainly applies to convicts which should all have voting rights. There around 2.4 million people in prison in the US. That is enough to swing an election. Convicts are overwhelmingly poor but also overwhelmingly Christian so it’s not immediately clear which way they would vote.

In the very least you can sleep knowing that you’re one of the reasons Trump is scared about losing one of his “key” states.

Texas has almost 9 million people who have already voted.

Even if Trump and Cruz win, there’s at least a good chance that a couple of state legislative seats could flip.

This is going to be a very high turnout election.

The polling station down from my house in VA was packed when I was heading to work.

The one I went to didn’t have too many people there. I’m guessing most people voted early.

Day isn’t even halfway over and my polling station is already on track to beat our previous turnout.

I voted early on the last day, this last Saturday.

There is also the question of what Harris will do and what path she will follow. Will she try to just cut costs and let things decline like Europe or will she try to invest and follow more China’s example? The US has always been a bit inbetween. It’s not as stagnant or as low investment as Europe but it also isn’t as assertive or as dynamic as China.

We should start seeing exit poll interviews start to trickle out at about 12ish.

One final reminder of just how chaotic the Trump campaign has been: the regional field director for western PA was fired this past Friday, four days before Election Day, because in his free time he hosts a Nazi podcast with Richard Spencer.

The betting markets have completely lost the plot. They’ve swung hard towards Trump in the 11th hour despite polls shifting back to Harris.

A lot of people are either about to be much poorer or much richer.

I’m almost, almost willing to throw my hat into the ring with that one betting house over in the UK.
