I’ve seen crypto currency. It’s user like to badmouth regulations while wanting the protection regulations bring whenever they’re rugpulled (which happens way too much). They have no one to blame but themselves for regulations coming in.
But also regulations make markets. There is this idea of markets existing naturally but they don’t. Markets are constructed by regulations. It’s just a matter of what regulations and who they favor. An unregulated market is not a thing that can exist, what it really means is a market constructed by it’s most powerful players who will of course rig it to benefit themselves at the expense of everyone else.
You can have bad and counterproductive regulation but there is no such thing as overregulation, just bad regulation. “Deregulation” just means shifting power from democratic government to oligarchic corporations.

Crypto is the closest thing to a real unregulated market there is and it just doesn’t work.
