Same. Talking about policies from any political side with facts, pros and cons.

Some things don’t have cons for 99% of the people. The only con to medicare for all is that the insurance companies no longer get to have billions of dollars of public money to give to their shareholders.

I never cared about it. It felt like one of those empty boasts since she is middle class, not lower class.
The only relevant thing is that she wasn’t born with a silver spoon in her mouth like Trump was.

Biden is considering allowing Shadow Strike use inside Russia, HIMARS is off the table though. Seems he is happy to let Europe take the risk but not the US? Putin issues another red line statement, saying this will mean NATO is at war with Russia. The problem is there have been so many of these red lines that have been crossed now, nobody knows if something will happen or not anymore.
I hope there is some diplomatic probing going on behind the scenes now to see if it is possible to end this war soon. Maybe the Russians have had enough and a somewhat decent deal can be reached? A forlorn hope probably…

There’s not much that can be done aside from Putler pulling all of his goons out of Ukraine including Donbass and Crimea.

Trump brining some bimbo 9/11 truther to the 9/11 remembrance ceremony at ground zero just because he’s banging her on the side and the GOP being ok with it sounds like a badly written political drama but apparently this is America now
It’s actually kinda funny ngl

The oldest Latino rights organization is now doubling their votering registration and get-out-the-vote efforts after Ken Paxton raided their offices 3 weeks ago in an act of blatant intimidation.
Here is a live image taken when Paxon found out that his efforts to suppress the Latino vote were backfiring.

With Liz Cheney aiding Colin Allred’s campaign (how much I have no idea) and the fact that Repubs do NOT have that big of a majority in the Texas state legislature, methinks that galvanizing the Latino vote against them isn’t a wise strategy.

The Republicans are, in my opinion from what I’ve noticed about the macro and micro trends, in worse shape than people realize.
Their one bright spot is their polling in Montana, but even that might not be as daunting as it seems given the difficulties of polling in that state.
There are a lot of “fundamentals” that are running against them.
Ironically, it’s an inverse of Clinton.
Clinton was doing well in the polls, but a look under the hood showed that a lot of the fundamentals were working against her. And once the election came around, that all came to a head and she lost.
Trump and the Republicans are polling “well” (still down in the polls but close) but the fundamentals are working against them.
They’re being out raised, out spent, and out advertised. Dems did great in the midterms, and a vast majority of the special elections over the last 3 years. There are way more “Left” ballot initiatives on the docket for this year. Kamala has a major approval edge over Trump and an enthusiasm edge.
Again, take this with a grain of salt. I’m just one dude on the internet. But, I’m one dude that has been closely watching elections for nearly 20 years.

Should we really be surprised how well Harris did in the debate?
She used to be a prosecutor. She knows how to deal with bullies.

The problem with Kamala is that she tries to be a “centrist” in the establishment but the establishment is pretty far to the right of the population. It’s kind of a strange situation cause Tim Walz is a centrist in terms of the population. But Kamala needs to get the left wing vote and to get that she needs to stop sending money to Israel and cut capitalist parasites out of the system.

Some sound logic there. My concern is that if Dems end up beating the polls by a significant margin (which would be awesome I’ll admit), it’ll give weight to the GOP’s inevitable accusations of fraud. I mean they’re going to dispute any loss they experience by any margin, but I’d rather them not have even the shakiest of standing to give to SCOTUS or any less than legal takeover attempt.

I don’t think it matters what the margins are. I think it’s become obvious that the facts are utterly irrelevant to the far right. The Biden administration kicked out more people than Trump both as a raw number and as a percentage but they still claim “open borders” regardless.

How valid it is, is absolutely irrelevant. If judges are corrupt enough to allow undermining of democracy without solid evidence then the margins won’t matter.
That reminds me I actually kinda wish more democrats would go the Bernie Sanders route and just throw caution to the wind regarding socialism. Republicans will call democrats “Radical leftists” no matter what so there isn’t really much to lose by just embracing popular policy even if it’s very left wing.

There’s enough members of the GOP and Republican parties now that are pointing at MAGA and saying; “This entire mess is your own damned fault” that I think any attempts to overturn this election with the kind of fraud they used in 2020 is going to be very short lived. They want a free and fair election, too, and are not putting up with the bullshit any more.

Except in [Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin(https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/sep/13/swing-states-election-deniers-vote-count). At the state level at least, certifying the election in those states might get stupid.
