Personally I would prefer that the Republicans collapsed into a regional party like the Federalists did after 1816 and die a slow, painful death. Then the bloated tent that is now the Democratic Party can figure out how to spin off a new second party and hit the reset button on our politics with a center-left Social Democratic Party and a center to center-right Liberal Democratic Party.

Trump is now doubling down on the various fact checks the moderators hit him with. In particular is him hammering on that migrants are totally eating your pets for realzies.

A skim across social media makes this look like a losing issue for him. People are laughing at his flailing.

I think the eating pets thing will alienate even more people as it’s just too absurd. Trump won’t get a dramatic collapse but rather a slow erosion of support. With every blunder causing 1% to leave and this happening over and over again.

Whatever you do, do not read Youtube comments from various clips of the presidential debate. In the video clips by Associated Press and NBC News where Trump repeated false claims of immigrants eating people’s pets, people in comments sections said ridiculous stuff like: “You’re wrong! There really are pics of people eating pets!” -and- “Go talk to people in Ohio! They know that the claim is true!”

Basically their source is that they made it the fyay up.

September is a critical month for campaigns and Trump pretty much blew his chance to make the most of it.

The next news today is going to be the CPI report, which unless it blows past expectations should be good news for Biden and Harris.

Which means the next big economic news after that will be a rate cut, possibly a half point cut. Add cratering oil prices into the mix and the economic picture is looking rosy for the Dems.

Trump’s out of time and out of options to define Harris and reverse the polling.

With the interview thing I don’t know what it will bring. I mean corporate news will never praise or even be fair towards anything that the corporate elite doesn’t like. Harris has a comprehensive policy agenda but because she isn’t shoving it in people’s faces they pretend it doesn’t exist. I’m sure that if she does shove it in people’s faces like Bernie did they will just twist it. They already did that with her promise to enact federal bans on price gauging which was twisted to mean price controls.

I hope the democrats also push harder in investments for nuclear power and HSR. To reduce America’s dependency on oil. Norway has massive reduced it’s oil consumption cause that means they can sell all their oil rather than use it and make more money.
