So I decided to go digging into the whole “divorce courts are biased in women’s favor for alimony and child custody” talking point. /r/AskFeminists actually has an answer to it in their FAQs, with a few helpful links that go into more detail.
Their answer:
DO NOT use the term “divorce rape.” It’s disgusting to conflate and diminish the ordeal of rape with paying alimony or child support. [Note from Blitz: I didn’t know this term existed until now and am appalled]
Divorce laws are gender-neutral; alimony is available to men; and upwards of 90% of custody arrangements are made without the intervention of any third party.
And now for the links to further reading that they provided.
And lastly, two example posts from /r/AskFeminists itself of members answering the questions: Do you believe divorce courts are biased to women?
Do you support lifetime alimony?

You know the idiots who think Biden is personally responsible for inflation spiking after COVID? That’s basically every country right now. The rubes can’t comprehend that the global economy might be a little fucked up after a global pandemic and a couple of wars. (And bear in mind, the wars are a knock-on effect from COVID and its economic impact, a way for corrupt dictators to take some of the heat off themselves.)

To clarify, it failed because, while not a single Democrat voted in favor, 24 Republicans broke the party line and sided with the unanimous “nay” from their opposition.

That’s nuanced, and dependent on the definition of “fair” election.
And, it’s true that the “right to vote” is INCREDIBLY nuanced in the constitutional system of the United States. It does exist, but it has been evolving and continues to change.
The 1788 constitution of the United States did not explicitly grant ANYONE the right to vote. Voting rights were determined by individual states, most of which restricted it to landowning white men. Since then, the 15th, 19th, 24th, and 26th amendments PROHIBITED denying the right to vote based on race, color, previous condition of servitude, on the basis of sex, and abolished the poll tax. The only extensions of a RIGHT to vote were in the 19th and 26th amendments which gave that right to women and people as old as 18 years.
And at the state level, most states simply extend the right to vote to anyone 18 years old who is a citizen and a resident of that state. Some also adopted the ERA so they are more modern.
NC’s own constitution says, in Article VI:
Section 1. Who may vote.
“Every person born in the United States, and every person who has been naturalized, 18 years of age, and possessing the qualifications set out in this Article, shall be entitled to vote at any election by the people of the State, except as herein otherwise provided.”
Is that fair? Does that result in a “FAIR” election? I think it’s fair. I don’t know if it results in a “fair election”, but it seems fair on it’s face.
Sections 2, 3, and 4 provide the qualifications of a voter, how they must register, and the laws concerning the conduct of elections.
Are they fair? I think so.
So what is it that the North Carolina Constitution doesn’t do that it should?
Gerrymandering, and election maps. Those are not a ‘constitutional issue’ for the state.
It’s been a fairly persistent legal battle there. In 2019 their superior court threw out the state’s legislative maps saying they were unconstitutionally favorable to Republicans, saying they “violated the state constitution’s guarantee of free elections and equal protection under the law”.
But in the same year the US Supreme Court said it wasn’t a federal issue (Rucho v. Common Cause). The majority ruling was that “claims of partisan gerrymandering present political questions that are not justiciable in federal court”. That threw it back to the state.
Despite the state ruling against the maps - in other words, the state court ALREADY had done what the Supreme Court said was necessary - subsequent maps drawn by the NC legislature continue to fail to pass their own superior court’s reviews.
Then, in 2022 - two years ago - the NC Supreme Court ruled the state’s constitution “does not provide a clear standard for what constitutes ‘fairness’ in redistricting” so it has to be worked out in the political process.
So … yeah. No guarantee of “fair”. If by “fair” you mean “election maps are equitable”.

Oh yeah, after the Las Vegas shooting in 2017, the shooter used a bump stock in his long-distance rampage. Trump signed the bill banning it. Now the Supreme Court has overturned it, and appears to have broadly weakened regulations of full-auto firearms.

Biden’s new suggestion regarding illegals, “Parole in Place”, is an idea that will just cause more immigration. Rewarding and showing illegals that if they just hold out long enough they will be rewarded with full citizenship. Stopping the immigration in the first place is strangely enough not talked all that much about…

Because you can’t “stop” immigration, dumbass.
As long as things are bad in one place and better in another, there will always be people desperate enough to try getting there, no matter how harsh the restrictions to new arrivals.

Impossible. Therefore borders must be protected for the sake of a country’s citizens. No country can have endless immigration forever in a world with limited resources. In the end the place the immigrants go to becomes just like the place they left, if the stream of people is not stopped.

That doesn’t make sense.
These countries don’t have an endless supply of people willing to emigrate (the majority of them would rather stay and endure rather than uproot themselves for the nebulous chance of a better and safer life). Typically, immigration waves are flux of hundreds to thousands of people moving in a given year (usually less than a percent of the population of any given country). Mass immigration worse than that only occurs when the situation in the country of emigration is truly dire (like in Syria, Venezuela or Ukraine currently).
And the circumstances that drive them to emigrate don’t last “forever” either; it may take decades at times, but once the situation stabilizes, people have no reason to depart en masse anymore (even the countries that have endemic issues see it taper off to a trickle after a while).
Background Pony #7A74
That’s what you guys say, meanwhile immigration just keeps increasing. And more and more endemic issues arise…

Nope. The problems are too massive for the West to fix. And as said before, endless immigration leads to huge problems.
