A lot of people here are just uncomfortable with the “likely” part. We know that very little is impossible but there is a difference between unlikelihood of something like that happening a year ago and “unlikelihood” of that happening now.

Also it was fun to remember that hen I was issued my military ID (no, I did not serve) the clerk joked “don’t worry in case of a nuclear war we’ll call you” (translation: people like you don’t have to interact with the army ever, despite what the law says). Doesn’t sound so funny now.

I know that fact that he alone cannot launch nukes (I’ve heard theories it needs two people out of three, or that it needs one people out of each of three pairs), and I know the chance is low, and I am honestly trying to be chill here. Just pointing out that the worry about the nukes is legitimate (i.e. not based on empty fantasies) even if it may be irrational (hurting you more now than any attempts to remedy situation will help you even if that unlikely risk will come to pass).

When we discuss nukes, it should be worth noting that there’s a difference between tactical nukes )“gonna wipe out this airfield right quickly”) and strategic nukes (ie. ICBM with dozens of warheads each capable of wiping out entire cities).

The former are probably not under the same “rules and safeguards” as the latter.

From what I’m reading, the tactical nukes aren’t on the same hair-trigger as the ICBMs, so the West would have a lot more warning if he started prepping those for use. Hours, days, maybe even weeks depending on how long it takes them to get their shit together.

Considering they’ve likely been kept in the same bases operated by their amazing logistics branch, we’d likely know they were prepping them for use after getting notice some oblast was evacuated due to a radiation hazard.

It’d be funny as hell if it turns out Russia’s 8000 or so nukes are all duds like the rest of their gear.

Imagine it. Putin, in complete shame over his micro-dick, decides to end the world. He launches all nukes everywhere and everyone all over the world are running in circles in panic.

20 minutes later the missiles land and dig themselves into the ground without exploding. Turns out all the uranium in the missiles got sold off decades ago by some oligarch wanting another yacht.

All 8 billion people utter “Bruh” in unison, then unanimously makes Russia not exist the next day.

At the rate things are going i wouldn’t be surprised is Russia’s “nukes” just turn out to be really big bottles of diet coke with mentos shoved inside them.

Or whatever the Russian verion of coke/mentos is.

The people should be warned before their home country uses mass destruction, they’re the ones who have to deal with the backlash.

American air superiority is so powerful that we probally don’t need to warn our citizens. Detonating a nuclear device in our air space will turn your country into a glass crater, It’ll be a giant ionized, crystalized parking lot. I’m not saying it’s right, i’m saying mutually assured destruction is the only visible thing keeping this shit show together.

America doesn’t need to take any more land. We’re already the biggest country. Chinas size and strength is artificially inflated with desperation.

We decented against england, basically taking their land, we took the indians land, our trade laws disproportionately effect many countries, and there is nothing anynone can do about it. Once lowly and suppressed slaves, excommunicated criminals, we became damn good at running things.

England fucked up, but America and England can help eachother, we didn’t fall too far from the same diseased branch.

America takes land without announcing it. they don’t have to. It’s not evil, it’s power.

If you want world peace, you got to ask America nicely.
