Well, I’ll try to do better. Sometimes, however, I forget my good upbringing as a child when political issues are rather “felt” and no longer “logically justified” discussed. I can certainly accept the opinion of other people. And even if I am sometimes a bit acerbic and/or sarcastic, it is not at all due to a personal antipathy towards someone.
 
But I also consider it an absolute political kindergarten to do any Trump level of discussion. I am still a mind-child of the diplomacy of the 1990s - but I see today’s online community as so toxic by populist polemics that it becomes more and more difficult for me not to counter this nonsense with a certain sharpness. Some people don’t seem to want to understand it any other way.
 
I often do not like this myself, but if I have learned anything from today’s political dealings and the new diplomacy between states, it is the fact that one can no longer be constantly prepared to compromise. Sometimes one must also defend one’s own point of view and not give way one single foot to nationalistic selfishness.
 
But as always in life, it is not a question of black or white. There are just many different shades of grey. I admit, maybe sometimes I see things a little too grimly. If I hurt other people’s feelings, I’m sorry. But unfortunately, nowadays it is hardly possible to maintain the polite status quo if the wells from which we all draw our knowledge and opinions are already poisoned.

You made the argument about population density and size. I made the argument, subjectively, that those factors does not matter all that much in the grand scheme of things. Your math is correct, but my personal opionion of its significance differs from yours. Living in a country with 15 people per Km2 (38 people per mi2), massive testing and tracking/quarantining, we still cant contain it and have hundreds of cases everyday. If questioning how relevant that geographical distance/population size is makes me a bad faith actor, so be it I suppose.

Watching Giuliani ooze like that, I swear, all I could think about was that scene from The Fifth Element, where Gary Oldman’s character is talking to a literal manifestation of evil intent on destroying Earth, and just listening to it causes him to do pretty much what Rudy did.

It’s hilarious looking back at conservatives mocking leftists over decrying Trump’s literally undisputed electoral victory in 2016, when they’re now screaming like babies demanding that reality itself be changed to satisfy their fragility.

Especially when you consider that most if not all of the complaining over Trump’s victory in 2016 was related to entirely legitimate problems that the electoral college has and the fact that it has (in recent decades) often given the presidency to someone who didn’t actually win the majority of people’s votes. They still accepted the results of the system, even if they absolutely loathed the person it selected.

Well technically there’s only been 5 people who’s won the presidency despite losing the popular vote. It’s just that it happened to the last 2 Republican presidents in a row.
