I find it funny that those who say “If you didn’t vote, you have NO right to complain,” are usually the ones that voted these politicians in office.

what annoys me about it even more, as a person who lives in the US, is that a lot of those people who don’t vote have the reasoning that “Oh, my vote doesn’t really matter in the end, so why bother?”

And yet, we have politicians trying to gerrymander and disenfranchise voters here, to keep them from voting or literally pick their voter base. It’s so infuriating; politicians wouldn’t do that if your vote was irrelevent

I wish blank ballots were counted as part of the final result. If people were allowed the means to express their rejection of the candidates in presence while still being able to perform their electoral duty, maybe that’d make voter turnouts higher (at least you could legitimately say of abstainers that they were the ones in the wrong in that case).

About 3 million votes, the thing is more complicated because not all states are populated equally. It’s like we’d be voting for a president of the EU (which would be a bit more democratic if we could… only a bit) but the way it would be counted would mean a small but populated country like Luxembourg or Belgium would change everything the way it is counted, instead of state-by-state.
