Reminds me that when Joseph McCarthy pulled a stunt like that back in 1954, he got immediately called out on "his cruelty and recklessness, as well as [having no sense of decency left":](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army%E2%80%93McCarthy_hearings#Joseph_Welch_to_McCarthy_%22Have_you_no_sense_of_decency,_sir?%22). Sad to see that has become the new norm among the Republican party.
