Trump's obsession for power and getting things passed though the chambers is so intense that he'd be ok with endorsing just about any candidate so long as they're a member of his own party. Even Trump himself is aware of the difficultly he faces getting things passed through the senate with a +2 advantage. Imagine how much worse it would be for him should Jones win and he loses a very reliable vote?
