He’s a doomsayer in the politics thread. He also loves to claim that the USA is on the same level as Nazi Germany in terms of how bad the USA is. He’s not very fun to listen to.

The politics thread strikes me as one big doomsaying thread no matter who posts there. I’ve ghosted it on occasion, but I refuse to participate in it because I feel it would eat up too much of my time and leave me depressed

It’s only sometimes that bad. It depends mostly on if pessimistic people feel like they sing songs of doom to justify claiming the world is beyond redemption (ignoring that if the world was half as bad as they love to claim, we wouldn’t be alive today).

I like them soft, but it’s not an insult, and it doesn’t mean they’re weak as well. I mean soft in the way a mattress is soft. Sure, I love lounging on its pliant surface, but i wouldn’t want to get full-on smacked in the face with it.

It’s usually not that bad when it’s just people who actually know what they’re talking about.

Sometimes, however, you get one of two specific groups. You either come across a grifter who parrots similar ideals to Ben Shapiro/TheQuartering, or you get the doom-sayer. You occasionally even see multiple at a time. And all hell breaks loose when that happens.

Regardless, I see that thread as one guaranteed not to give me a good time. As it had always been a heavily saturated subject to begin with, I see/hear about plenty of politics and political opinions IRL, and on this site I’d rather just… well, relax and look at mare butts, y’know :P

Going back to something more lighthearted, I know this would be more fitting on Valentine’s Day, but I refuse to wait another damn year to post it.
