Hogwarts regularly has a competition where dead children aren’t even uncommon. How is that a world that sounds appealing? Are parents fine with their children dying for a trophy? Do any of them complain about the possibility of their own children dying for a title?

It’s not a world that I would necessarily want to live in even if I were magic, I’ll grant you that.  
Otherwise, I’m not seeking an argument here, nor am I interested in partaking in one.
 
I’m not saying anyone is wrong for liking or not liking that franchise.  
I enjoyed the books and movies from my childhood to young adulthood, but I’m not a diehard

To be fair to the Wizarding World, they stopped that competition (Tri-Wizard Tournament) in 1972 because of too many dead kids. Which were certainly due to the dragons, drownings, and all the horrors lurking in the maze.
 
Dumbledore decided they needed to bring it back because apparently he wanted to watch the children die, and all the ridiculous shit that had seemed to lurk in the school each year (giant three-headed monster dog, troll, etc. in year 1, the giant snake that could kill if you looked it in the eye in year 2, the soul-sucking monsters trying to find the escaped murderer lurking in the school in book 3) weren’t doing it for him.

Still, this is the same world where one group (slytherin) is unapologetically racist and forms their own KKK in the latter books. And no one bats an eye in Hogwarts until Noseless returns and decides to use that racism as a rally flag (like what has happened in real life, sadly).
