Honestly, people who use the term “Tumblr Art” to describe Western Art probably haven’t seen a lot of very talented Western Artists on Twitter or DeviantART.

I feel like the term is valid, but like a lot of terms, overuse had diluted its meaning. It doesn’t really help that “Tumblr style” isn’t really a unified style so much is it is a series of artistic decisions that are made to conform to… a particular ideological standard. It’s one of those “you’ll know it when you see it” things, unfortunately.
