After so many years of Dagestani grappling supremacy in the UFC, especially coming from the Nurmagomedov clan, we finally found someone who has beaten them in their very own game.

Both Umar and Merab were toe to toe and almost evenly match in their grappling skills with Umar having a little bit edge of the striking in Rounds 1 and 2.
BUT… Umar’s gas tank ultimately ran out at the end of Round 3 because of the intense fast pace of their fighting for 15 minutes. And Merab on the other hand has one of the best cardio endurance in history and he feels like he can fight 24/7 non-stop.
It was Merab’s show onwards Rounds 4 and 5. Umar has never been taken down in his entire undefeated career before. And for the very first fucking time in the long line of the Dagestani lineage, a Nurmagomedov is getting smeshed by someone else who is not from their gene in their own game.
