Because “woman” means “wife-man”. A “girl” is someone who’s too young to marry, a “lady” is a female looking for a husband, and a “maid” is one who’s too old to marry.

I see. That is true, in a way. Despite any supposed vitriol, quite a few couples tend to love each other nonetheless. And to be clear, I’m talking about general arguing and overall patchy moments in a relationship, definitely not straight up physical or mental abuse.
