A few people saying that they’re not disinterested in the show doesn’t mean that they’re getting annoyed by your posts. I particularly don’t care for the comics getting posted here but I don’t say anything about it. I don’t mind the South Park posts personally, I don’t have anything against them

Honestly, I think South Park’s humor is better when reality is almost as horrible as it is trying to portray in its satirical ways. I guess the “it’s funny because it’s true” thing actually works for me in some way. And for me it also works so well because of how exaggerated they make their humor. Plus, if Eric Cartman could exist at the time, maybe this kind of people existed way before the creation of South Park and it’s not my fault they don’t have self awareness.

And personally, South Park is actually helping me get through a part of my life I really wish to forget right now. I think it’s pretty easy to guess what it is.

Darth Primus is kind of right though. It’s not like I want people to not express themselves but being the one person that posts about South Park the most and knowing South Park’s reputation, I can only have one guess why someone would outright express their opinion of it. Trust me, I’ve seen so many people on the web directly go “South Park is terrible show that shouldn’t even exist”. I can guess if some people actually feel appalled purely by seeing it. The problem is I love South Park, a lot. I genuinely love South Park. It’s not just that I’m a fan of it. I love it.

To be honest, this is becoming one of those instances where I realize I should’ve just kept my goddamn mouth shut.

In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m not exactly doing all that well right now either. Things are all sorta just happening so fast for me, and I’m still having trouble processing it all. So what started out as me trying to poke fun at my own unpopular opinions (hence the meme image that accompanied it) ended up feeling like I was venting my frustrations out for no discernable reason, and for that, I apologize.

I still standby my comments on the show itself, and my distaste for what it’s done to adult animation as a whole, but I should’ve been a lot less dickish about it.

Ah it’s all cool. One of the things South Park taught me is being more tolerant toward other people’s opinions, even the negative ones (Gotta apply that to the other franchise). It is a show that makes fun of a lot of people on every side after all. I was partially memeing myself which was why I was quoting the show.

I will say the blame of South Park’s influence is definitely not on itself though. It’s really how people just don’t get it. Take that New Norm Show thing for example since it literally called itself “the South Park of X”. This show was being offensive for offensive sake and completely glancing over the satirical nature of South Park. People forget that one of South Park’s biggest selling points is satirizing things which means you’re supposed to know that these offensive behaviors are not acceptable. Cartman himself literally gets physcially harmed multiple times for his behaviors. It is unfortunate some people decide to be like him instead of against him but that’s not excatly South Park’s fault.

Another thing is South Park can be surprisingly wholesome and genuine when it wants to. There is a reason I would find these characters adorable. They are still kids after all.

I find South Park informative.

Furthermore, I enjoyed turning Stan’s sister into a puking, burning and bleeding mess.

Both South Park games are pretty much a way for certain fans to vent their frustration toward certain characters. You can beat up Shelley with Stan for all the time she abuses him. You can beat up a drunk Randy for his constant idiocy. You can beat up Kyle’s cousin for being annoying and mother for being the biggest Karen in the universe. You can betray Cartman for all his talks about Jews or beat up Kyle for his self-righteousness. You are ungroundable against Butters’ parents and not only can you save Butters from being grounded but you can also beat up his dad with him. It’s pretty cathartic.

Kyle’s mom is hot.

Oh no, I completely agree there. The fault lies with the companies who saw the show’s success and wanted to get in on the action, without understanding why it got popular in the first place. It took decades before adult animation started having some actual variety again (Castlevania, Invincible, Hazbin Hotel), and even then you still have Comedy Central and Fox pumping out at least one new shitty South Park rip-off every year.

And it hasn’t just been South Park either. Toy Story and Shrek are generally considered by most (including myself) to be fantastic movies, but their success almost single-handedly killed off 2D animated movies here in the west.

I heard that Ren and Skimpy also cause a gross-out crazy for kid shows that were also of terrible quality. Than in the video game world, the battle royal crazy PUBG and Fortnite started. To put it simply, entertainment is full of thread chasers.
