Does cynicism prevent progression? I know blind optimism is a thing, but it feels like an optimistic person is more likely to improve the world for the better than a cynical one.

I’ve been cynical before. I hate it. I feel like it’s better to have that underlying hope and optimism instead. I feel it’s better for my mind.

And as for benefitting the world? I like to think if people were more people were like Andy from Shawshank Redemption with more hope, the world would be a better place. It’s why I keep going despite my flaws.
