I mean, they use children when there are literal experts just regular trainers for you to battle. If the games weren’t afraid to be higher than a G, we’d see more of that route explored.

How often do you see a Professor doing actual work in the field?
Cause I only know Professor Birch in Gen 3 and he nearly got his ass chewed off by poochyena.
Now I’ve not played every game so there’s things I don’t know but my overall point is Pokémon Professors kinda suck at their job.

Guy on discord went LIVID at me and tol’ me I can’t even basic english I fail ESL etc just because he don’t understand what WAIFU is and assumed I had been spelling WIFE wrong.
He kept telling me that I couldn’t even spell WIFE.
I tol’ em. “Breh a Waifu is not a wife breh are you for real rn?”
he doubled down and was like “YES IT IS. It clearly is! Find me oxford dictionary the word waifu!”
and I’m like “any1 gon’ tell this nibba?” and some1 pulled a Urban Dict entry on WAIFU and he got laughed out of the channel.
