He kinda is atm. but to be fair his showmanship was what brought UFC into the mainstream. Connor and Mayweather are two of the most well known fighters this generation. Even anybody who has zero knowledge of UFC (like me) knew about Connor McGregor WAY before his now-infamous grudge match with Khabib.
 
Frankly, Khabib kinda sorta owed his career to Connor in a bizarre way. Not that his ridiculously spotless record is anything to scoff at, mind you. It’s just that Khabib couldn’t market a fight like Connor can. Khabib’s a muslim village boi who only knows how to grapple.
 
Oh I’m bigger Khabib fan than I am a Connor fan atm, because Connor’s fallen.
