Star Wars General

I can watch the originals and the prequels. Prequels are not as good as the originals but gets better with every movie. Lucas made them different enough to be fresh but also familiar. Acting is so so.
 
I will never watch the sequel trilogy again. What a hopeless concept the whole charade is. What the first movie sets up the next one tears down, then comes another one and picks up where the first one left off. The era it is set in is a soulless and shiny copy paste of the imperial era. And when it’s all over there’s nothing to build on. Everyone of note is dead.
 
What keeps me interested in the franchise now is the shows. Mandalorian was fun. Bad Batch is decent. But I hope they don’t make any more movies for a while…

I’m going to end this by saying bother trilogies are trash and arguing over which is worst is a waste of all our time. Now look at this ugly I came across on Reddit.
 

And I will end with saying the Prequels are better than the Sequel Trilogy.

Your point is to try and end the discussion by declaring both bad as if it’s something we can all agree on most likely because you can’t come up with anything that actually makes the Sequel seem better than the Prequels.  
My point is that while I’m not going to argue the Prequels are good I don’t think of them as absolute trash thus I cannot agree with what you’re saying.

I was busy trying to watch a show and got tired of looking back and fourth, hence why I was selective about my responses. Plus, I get tired of this song-and-dance very easily.

Prepare for more Star Wars from the other side of Lucas film, Leslye Headland’s The Acolyte. This is from the same crowd that made the sequels. Politics over story again.

From what I heard it’s about a dark side Jedi woman set long before Episode 1. Not a concept I find that interesting, but I’ll check it out.

So is “high Republic” the new canon term for the Old Republic during its golden age?

Blah, am I alone in my distaste for Bane and the whole idea of the Rule of 2? Its so, dull to me.
 
Darth Viciate proved you could make a successful Sith Empire. If he hadn’t had the ulterior motive to eat the galaxy, and if the empire hadn’t listened to hardliners like Baras, then it would have trucked along just fine.

I think in Bane’s time, the Sith no longer tried to one-up each other and just wanted to work together as equals, hence why Bane did a soft reboot and made there be only two (a master and apprentice), so they can thrive in secret until the two was more powerful than the Jedi. That’s what I been told about it and why it’s a thing.
 
As for Darth Viciate, that sounds like newer lore conflicting with older lore.

Bane and Viciate are from the same lore, technically. Both are EU natives, Bane from the books and Viciate from Old Republic the MMO.
 
Its just they’ve slightly rewritten how Bane’s plan started and the circumstances around it.

The MMO was pre-Disney and most of it is still considered Legends. Even the expansions that came out under Disney were not influenced by Disney, and several of the story writers were vets of the legends EU.

I just meant I’m sticking with the Legends continuity and the times of the info released for that era of Star Wars. Did the books or MMO with Viciate came out first, and how far apart?

Honestly, I feel like that ship is a bit too accurate to the Jedi by the times of the movies. Canon Jedi I mean, not EU Jedi.

If I were to write a story within the Star Wars universe I wouldn’t necessarily care about “official” canon,I’d just pick and choose what I like.

The first and foremost thing about a story is that it’s good on its own. Clone Wars doesn’t fit neatly in the movie canon but no one cares because it’s good.
