I think the more accurate statement would be other people are better at translating what the creator is trying to make not that he misunderstands what he creates.

You know what? That’s a better way of putting it. As bad as the Prequels were, I could see that Lucas had a vision for the setting. It expanded the lore and made Star Wars feel…well, like an actual galaxy full of beings.

Look, I don’t think Lucas is Jesus Christ reborn but the man has talent. He’s got the Indians Jones franchise AND the Star Wars franchise under his belt as well as some other good movies he made before. To say nothing of how he went against Hollywood. I guess what I’m saying is…he’s not as bad as people like Red Letter Media make him out to be.

And you know what? I’m gonna defend the prequels. Yea, the CGI for Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones is bad by our standards today, but some of it was damn good. Yoda for example.

The stories were clunky and each episode on its own is kind of eh, but taken together it’s a compelling trilogy that expanded the Star Wars lore and the characters in general.

I am not ignorant of his shortcomings but he is actually not some idiot that got lucky he actually has some insightful things to say and I think it’s only fair that he’s deserving a measure of some respect thus I play devil’s advocate for him.

I can go on and on with criticisms for the Sequel Trilogy but TFA and even TLJ have occasionally moments that I could say “yeah that was pretty good that was neat.”
I got absolutely nothing I can say positive to say about TROS.
