The dialogue in the prequels is so bad that you wonder if George Lucas has ever even heard two humans have a conversation.

i’ve gotta be real i have no clue what the kenobi show did to get some people so worked up.

No idea than. Maybe they’re upset that the show didn’t make the Sequels non-canon.

Alternatively, there’s the possibility that some people take the Star Wars canon so damn seriously that anything that doesn’t fit their vision of events is dumb. Yeah, the Kenobi show is flawed, but I think it’s nifty and in terms of its focus on the trauma and recovery of Obi-Wan Kenobi, I think it’s quite effective.

The siblings make me laugh. But honestly their mom has the least memesy face so in all seriousness she wins.

And what’s the excuse for the Dreadnought’s weak spot?
Cause a year before that movie they released one to explain the Death Star’s weakness was an overly elaborate trap by one vengeful engineer because for years people made fun of it for being such a “simple” way to blow it up (and ignoring how actually difficult it was to even accomplish that shot which the movie itself shows).
Therefore there must be an entire movie (or at least a show since that’s the thing now) to explain why the First Order’s ugly-ass Dreadnought had this one weakly armored spot over what I guess was its reactor (wasn’t even an exhaust port).

Okay, I just feel the need to mention that I think people overblow the weakness of the bombers. I think the simple answer for both is “The bombs used are a very high degree of explosive.”

Until the bombs are active, the ships held together fine. However, the reason the fleet started getting ripped apart was those very bombs; Once they were turned on and the first ship was getting destroyed, it set off the explosives and that was the reason for the chain reaction.

Is it still a flaw that they activated the bombs a bit too soon, and perhaps they didn’t need a payload of that size per bomb, but the main flaw in the attack plan was that Po had rushed the attack and as a result they sent out too many bombers and not enough escorts.

The bombers are stupid and bad we will all agree to this.
But it really doesn’t matter what in-universe explanation can be made to try and justify them being as bad as they are because they’re shit because they were written to be shit.

I think the bombers were not meant for battle, and they were just using what they had. Extremely volatile suicide machines. This is the same organization that made Holdo a leader, so I don’t think they had the best judgement.

They were dumb on their face considering their very design requires them dropping bombs. Which require gravity. And they tried it in space. Sure the dreadnought was probably big enough to start having it’s own gravitational pull, and we did see a kind of conveyer system to push the bombs to begin with, but still.

I mean, good job on the fact that only one bomber’s payload was needed to destroy the First Order’s dreadnought, but I’m not convinced a single Y Wing couldn’t have done the same job.

Especially since a single Y Wing did do the same job one movie later against the Last Order’s star destroyers.

I have seen that actually and it’s true.

As for how the bombs are dropped the bombers clearly had gravity in them since we see crews walking around inside them no problem thus the bombs would have been affected by that gravity and maintained that motion that when entire space.
Not that that makes anything about them better they’re still pretty the shittest ships in the franchise (at least in the mainstream consciousness) but the way the bombs are dropped is the least of the complaints about them.

I finally started watching Rebels. It’s kinda hard to get into. So far my favorite thing isn’t do much the story or characters, that all seems a bit basic. What I like is seeing all the old design references. Every few seconds I see some alien or droid and I’m like oh hey, I recognize what that’s supposed to be.
