The beginning with Kylo and Palpatine is kinda cool. Drags a bit,though. Then, the vortex from Sliders?

Why couldn’t there be a Porg or two hanging out on the ship with Chewie? I joked during Last Jedi that he’d eat them, but did he?  
One positive for this movie already is that it’s far more visually interesting than Last Jedi.

Why is Poe dressed like Drake from Uncharted? Also what did he just say? Palpatine is on the planet Xtacle?

Kylo got his ship from Ben Quadrinaros.

Oh no, Chewbacca is dead? Now Lumpy is without a father.

I’m getting a little bored now. Rey is a blank slate. Finn just kinda comes along for the ride, and Poe I just don’t know much about. I guess I should have read all the tie-in comics.

The movie apparently changed stuff about Poe’s backstory kinda where in the comics his parents were Rebels and he was a soldier but TORS decided to make him a spice runner so he could be more like Han Solo.

I do like the reference to Palpatine’s son.  
Nice to see they haven’t forgotten those books I read when I was a kid.

But really I doubt JJ knew anything about Legends stuff anyway and any of the stuff that just happens to have happened back then EG Han and Leia’s son falling to the Dark Side and Palpatine coming back is purely coincidental.

“Read” is a bit hard to believes  
Read about or heard about is slightly more believable but still doubt.  
Like here’s a guy who wrote a Spider-Man book with his son about Peter Park and his son with Mary Jane but universes about potential children Pete and MJ have had is not an amazing new concept even though yes this one was written by an actual father and son.  
Sometimes concepts are just kinda obvious to the point of being cliché or hackney in there own.

Okay the Rey confronting a dark version of herself was cool until dark Rey growled at normal Rey.

I think Yoda’s version did the same to him. Difference is that Yoda is part of a likely carnivorous race and is a small green dude.
