Mando’s about the same tier as Rogue One, SW Squadron (video game), Jedi Fallen Order (video game), Clone Wars, Rebels and Resistance. As for now, the Didney Canon is split into what I just mentioned, vs Sequel Trilogy.
 
DexStewart said that the Sequel Trilogy is getting the DBGT treatment. Okay that’s actually a fair and accurate comparison.
 
DBGT is set far into the future. DB Super had not replaced whatever DBGT is doing technically, but right now DB Super takes priority because it takes place before the ending of Z and right after Buu Saga. There is still a possibility of DB Super revisiting GT. There is still a possibility of Goku being turned into a child, Baby Vegeta, the Super 17 saga, SSJ4 and Omega Shenron being a thing, all of that while including Gods of Destruction, God Ki, Angels, Ultra Instinct and the Multiverse established in Super.
 
Same deal with the Disney sequel; Eventually they might rewrite the Sequel Trilogy with a better writing while re-exploring the same plot points while integrating characters from the Canon Universe. Rey Klyo Finn and Poe might still exist, but they’re probably not gonna be the same characters we seen from the Sequal movies.

I don’t think you understand what I said.

So IMO…Mando takes priority. Mando’s the DB Super…and not because of whether I like one or the other, but because Mando is both canon AND takes place much closer to the timeline of RoTJ

No, the movies take priority over the EU, which the Mando show being part of the latter.

GT to me is already non-canon due to more reasons than that, (though Pilaf Gang being de-aged could take place after Super, right before End of Z)
 
Goku having access to SSB and UI in Super, but in GT he only goes up to SSJ3 prior to unlocking SSJ4? Okay no. No mentions of GoD or Angles in GT? Okay no.
 
Basically, DBGT only runs on the informations at the End of Z. It ofc didn’t count on DBS taking place right after Buu and giving Dragon Ball all these other elements that is surely gonna look weird if they were never ever mentioned again.

But seriously,the upcoming shows don’t take place during or after the sequel trilogy.  
That leads me to think they either don’t want to,or don’t care about what those films did.  
I don’t even think that was all the shows,was it?

Or maybe they know that people are fans of the Clone Wars, Rebels, and Mandalorian, all of which are shows, and are aware of the time those shows take place in, in-universe.

incorrect. DB Super is bona-fide, offically confirmed CANON. Now think about this:
 
Two series are “canon.” One of them takes place far in the future, the other immediate. If one series breaks the canon of another, I definitely would go with the more immediate one, and would question the canon of the series in the future. Especially glaring in DBGT’s case because DBGT flat out ignores Super (which is understandable. Super didn’t exist back then.)
 
So no, while the comparison is apt, it is not 100% similar.

Yup. we Dragon Ball Super now. I would assume those movies / shows gonna be canon right? They’re not some “What-if” Spinoffs are they?  
I mean, Fallen Order and Squadron takes place in the same canon as Disney’s new EU so…SO YEAH I think we about to see something that would either REALLY cancels the entire Sequel Trilogy or…absolutely confirms the Sequel Trilogy.
 
We just have to find out, I suppose.

Until we got a proper confirmation from the showrunners themselves I’m not gonna entertain it further than “just a theory.”
 
DB Battle of Gods itself already broke all GT canon, but at that point GT was still the go to canon. If DB Battle of Gods was just a one-time thing, then GT would still be canon. But then Super happened, advanced the plot from Battle of Gods and throws DBGT out the window.
 
IMO same deal with Mando. If Mando was just a one-time thing then you know what? I’m still considering Sequel Trilogy to be mostly canon. But if Lucasfilm decides to expand on Mando and toss Sequel Trilogy out the window…yeah, then this new EU becomes canon.

Yes, it does. I’m not going by what’s popular, but by how the canon tier system for Star Wars has always worked, with the movies being tier 1, and shows like Mandalorian tier 2.

Considering there’s like three shows spinning off The Mandalorian I feel confident that they’re going with the split in the timeline.

BOTH, are canon. The gap in the timeline is more than enough to tie-together a coherent story, no matter how flimsy. You CAN still create a story that still has both Grogu in Luke’s care while having Ben Solo as his first student. What if Luke decided to NOT train Grogu for the same reason Ahsoka didn’t train him?
 
At this point there is NO NEED, and no hard evidence to toss the Sequel Trilogy unless you really, really want it gone.

Exactly. There is more than enough time to tie this together. They could even Rewrite the Sequel Trilogy if necessary, to include all the elements present in the EU. Because as it currently stands, neither Mando nor the Sequel cancels each other. Again. Unless you REALLY, want to.

Right it’s a potential split in the timeline they’re both Official stories so technically both canon.  
I just say what gets the focus on it is “canon” because that’s what gets developed on so it’s the only canon that matters.  
If the Sequel Trilogy doesn’t get focused on anymore than it’s basically become New Legends.
