The enemies burn through those E-tanks so fast, even later on when you have tons of them.

Bosses in the Prime series and Other M are a bit more complicated though.
 
Other M is probably the hardest one though.

That’s fine, but I still feel “Super,” or “Zero Mission” are probably the best ones to start with. If you like Zelda, & such then you should be used to the exploration style, and how items allow you to do more, and access new areas.

And the less said about the “station loses power” segment of the game, the better.

What makes the bosses even more frusturating is that the battle isn’t actually over until you defeat the X-form. If you die, you basically have to start the whole fight from the very beginning.

Don’t they replenish a little health, not all the way?

Yeah, they replenish most of your health and ammo.

I mean if you don’t kill the X and they turn back into the boss you just defeated.

What I meant is that losing all your health during the X portion essentially means that you need to start all over again.

No, I mean…ugh…if you DON’T defeat the X parasite before time runs out…do they replenish literally ALL of their health once they turn back into the boss, or do they just regain A LITTLE like the bosses in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow if you don’t draw that soul thing that appears once you deplete their health to zero?

That isn’t even a thing that happens.

Mecha Ridley must be the bane of anyone seeking to get 100% in Metroid:Zero mission, since it gets stronger depending on how many things you have collected.

Specifically, if you collect all the items, its offensive and defensive capabilities triple, making an already difficult fight even harder. Especially considering that as far as I can tell, only Super Missiles can damage it.

Actually, Supers just do a lot more damage than regular. Also if you don’t get everything, it’s a lot easier.

Oh. Yeah, I knew about it being easier if you don’t collect everything, but for some reason I always thought that only Super Missiles could damage it.

Nope, regulars just do less damage.

You know, the sad thing is that Metroid Other M had a lot of legitimately good ideas, but it completely botched every single one of them.

To be honest, if the game was remade and fixed those issues, it probably would have been better received.

You’d have to heavily rewrite the story though. And at that point you might as well just make a new game that makes Other M non-canon.

It baffles me that Sakamoto still stands behind every decision he made for that game.

I think that federation force probably would have been better received if it had been released at a better time.

Yeah, really didn’t help that not only was it the first Metroid game in 7 years AND released during the 30th anniversary, but it was released a couple days after AM2R was C&D’d. Which itself was C&D’d the literal day it was completed and released.
