So like, anybody tired of metal fans telling you to not listen to metal bands because they deem them problematic?
 
Like I saw a tweet of someone ranting about how people can still support the band Leviathan because of Jef Whitehead’s being sent to court on accounts of abusive (which was dropped but he was put on probation for “aggravated battery”) and some not accepting that he’s gotten better (one person on Twitter even mocking said idea because Whitehead is married and now has a daughter). Also apparently wearing a Skrewdriver shirt from before their white supremacy days somehow marks him as a “Nazi”.

Yes I fucking know Drudkh has references to nationalism, yes I fucking know Neige of Alcest was in a far-right band when he was fifteen, Yes I know Jef Whitehead of Leviathan got abuse charges, yes I fucking know Deathspell Omega and Mgla are connected to certain musician who’s tied to far-right shit.

Like I don’t mind if people don’t like it, but sweet hell are a lot of people actually all morally superior to others over what they should listen to.

For me, if it pisses off the people at metalsucks.net, that’s a plus in my book.

What are people’s thoughts here on USPM, aka: United States Power Metal?
 
Most famous bands from the USPM scene would be Queensryche and Manowar.
 
The other notable ones are Liege Lord, Savatage, Jag Panzer, Omen, Riot, and many more.
 
Personally I consider USPM my favorite style of metal nowadays, along with second wave style black metal.

Funnily enough my gateway to metal was actually metalcore, deathcore, and death metal back around 2007.
 
I didn’t really start listening to traditional heavy metal and power metal until after I was already into black and death metal.
