@MoogSourceVermona
I mean, some of my newer music is influenced by ‘80s hard rock and hair metal, but we have yet to see an actual modern hair band that isn’t meant to be enjoyed ironically.
@Hypnosryan
Honestly, I like a lot of hair metal better than grunge. Both genres had their good bands and their bad bands, but at least hair metal had a sense of fun and was not sullen all the time.
@hype
Hey, I absolutely love hair metal. I’ve just heard a lot of people try to say it isn’t metal or even hard rock, and wanted to get y’all’s opinion.
As for the last bit, well, it’s just that after grunge (namely Nirvana) broke out in the mainstream, a lot of grunge, post-grunge, and nu metal bands felt that the only mood one could be was depressed and sullen.
It heavily depends on which album you’re talking about, Kill Em All, Ride The Lightning, Master Of Puppets, And Justice For All, Death Magnetic, and Hardwired To Self Destruct are Thrash Metal. The Black Album, Load And Reload, and St. Anger are not Thrash. And then of course Lulu basically isn’t even music.
Has anybody here ever played in a band or had a music project of any sort? As I brought up in the vent thread, I had a pretty cringe worthy bedroom black metal project back when I was a teenager.
@Hypnosryan
A few. The band’s called DAЯK MATTEЯ. I’m still releasing music under the name with a constantly changing lineup, but here are our hardest rock songs.
My favorite song of yours would be the one called “Too late For Change”. If there’s anything I think you need to work on though, it would be the vocals. The vocals were off especially on “Succubus”
@Hypnosryan
Thanks! And yeah, I’ll definitely work on the vocals in my future videos. Fun fact: The vocals and instrumentals for “Succubus” (excluding the extra harmonies which I dubbed in post) were all done live on the set.
