Best Zelda game for a beginner? Graphics dont matter. I grew up with Gamecube but I can still tolerate N64 graphics and older.

I’m probably biased but probably A Link to the Past, though I don’t think you can go wrong with Ocarina of Time

I think I might have played Link to the Past along with other SNES titles before I knew what an SNES was, as a kid at a hotel for few minutes when it was raining.

It creeped me out a bit but I loved it.

Any news on BOTW2?

It’s called “Tears of the Kingdom”, new building abilities, weapon fusing, abilities are still front-loaded (unofficially confirmed), elevation tracker, enemies can have powerful fused weapons. Oh, and Ganon talks.

Take your time, Link. Gando’s not going anywhere. He just installed Legends: Arceus to his Sheikah Slate, so he’s gonna be busy.

Actually, it’d be cool if there was a game where Ganon’s army actually taking over the world was an ever-present threat. Like you have towns and villages, and they periodically come under attack by a bunch of Moblins, and if you don’t run in to save the day, the town gets sacked. Areas controlled by Ganon’s forces would look more like Zelda I, with civilians hiding in caves and being generally unhelpful. And you could take a town back by beating the monsters there, but they would still need time and resources to rebuild. You could also have quests to build up a town’s defenses or secure trade routes between free areas. Just make it a whole thing.

Imagine going into some big tough dungeon, finally beating the boss, and coming out to find half of Hyrule has fallen while you were in there.

Recommend watching There Will Be Brawl in anticipation of TotK.

I have doubts that anything from “Age of Calamity” will ever be referenced in the new game since it’s a mere spin-off.

Well, Sidon, Riju, and Tulin are fighting alongside Link in TotK so it’s not impossible for them to reference AoC’s events.

Unless they mention time travel and Sidon mentions fighting alongside Mipha for example, I will consider AOC to be non-canon.

Also I believe AOC used “Avengers: Endgame”‘s version of time travel, where they don’t change history but simply create another universe. (that one greatly confused me the whole time I watched the movie in theaters)

Confirmed. Game outright says it in one of the snippets.

It’s also why I think AoC can be canon, since it didn’t overwrite BotW, just created a new timeline where the Second Great Calamity didn’t go as badly as it did in BotW.
