Also, something to always reminder the nobles that hail Druckman as such a progressive ally: He harassed Amy Hennig out of NaughtyDog.
But, she wouldn’t submit so she had to get done.
The media wants to get rid of user scores on Metacritic now.
They want no criticism from normal people, just their fellating the ego of whatever dev or company they want people to like without question.
Which is no surprise. Same thing happened with several movies, such as Last Mary Sue and wanted user scores scrubbed. Then once Fall of Skywalker came out the same types whined it tried to undo what their saint did in the previous, even though, it was a disaster of a movie and with a Game being the equivalent of Oscar bait, it makes sense they’d go hard on this piece of trash.
May guess, if NaughtyDog canned Druckman (big doubt) and someone new took over, they’ll dislike the 3rd installment if there is one just out of spite.

And assuming that’s actually a thing, and not just the paranoid misinterpretations of some random nobody on YouTube, maybe it’s less that they don’t want “normal people” to comment on stuff, and more that they don’t want tens of thousands of people to purposefully submit low scores out of anger over whatever perceived slight has them angry this time around.

A disaster you say? Curious, I remember it being very well reviewed by the critics, well reviewed by audiences (except, curiously enough, on sites that don’t have any restrictions on reviewing outside registration and are therefore open to review bombing), and the highest grossing film of 2017.

Aggregate review scores have never been an accurate representation of anything. Ever. Not from critics, and not from users. Even individual review scores are of dubious quality beyond “this is what I reckon”. Metacritic and similar sites have always been garbage, yet there is a perception that their scores are somehow valuable…
…Which is why the idea of removing user scores stinks. It’s clearly a power play to try and have the prestige of having a high score, and the power to give something a low score, in order to influence people’s opinions about media. If it were really about fixing review bombing, the right move would be to educate people about what review scores mean, and let them decide for themselves.
But that would create the possibility of people making the wrong decision, and we can’t have that. It also conveniently ignores the fact that reviewers can review bomb too.

That is what I’d consider the bare minimum requirement of a review myself. Many people feel otherwise though, and would rather put out their opinion as soon as possible, even if it’s uninformed. After all, reviews aren’t about judging how good a game is: it’s about sending a message /sarcasm.

Eh, dunno. There are a lot of games where you’re still in tutorial mode past the first hour. Especially open world games; hell, I think Red Dead 2 was still tutorializing new features and locking important content out until like 5 hours in.
Plus stuff like Dark Souls, the games with “filters” and all that. I don’t think that many people would highlight DS1’s first area and boss as being all that fun and great, but the game’s damn good if you stick with it past that.
