How does that beast shoot? I’ve heard it’s better than the Kel Tec KSG (my current bedside gun) but has its own different manual of arms. How do you like it?
 
I’ve also heard disassembly for that thing is monstrously complicated. Also true?

The gun runs extremely smooth. I’ve had no issues with it to date in terms of jamming or other failures. The shells also eject significantly softer than the KSG. Downside is that it is very heavy if you’re going to carry it around. But potentially worth it as a home defense gun since you have an immediate follow up shot without having to pump it.
 
And yeah, the disassembly is a nightmare. Would not recommend even trying to do that if it’s not absolutely necessary.

Ha, fair enough. My KSG has one tube + the chamber with 000 buck ready to go, the other has slug rounds. Figured because the gun can do it, it’d be in my best interest to diversify what I could send downrange if necessary. I’d need a lot of time with the DP-12 to get over the habit of racking the action after every shot, lol.
 
That is one drawback of the KSG that I don’t hear talked about often: after a while you need to yank on the slide like it owes you money and slam that thing back forward with some gusto (cleaning solves the problem, but it surprisingly intolerant of being run super dirty. I’d say mine got antsy with me around ~100 rounds fired before I cleaned it and had it running fine again). The heavy recoil comes up each time it’s mentioned (and for good reason, it is a very light gun before you fill it up with shells) but I’m a bit surprised people don’t talk about it not liking running dirty. Then again, I don’t think there’s all that many people dumb enough to mag-dump it several times in a row.
 
Have you seen the new Tavor TS12? That thing looks slick as hell. If I can get my hands on one to demo it, that might replace my KSG as the bedside defender.

I keep 16 rounds of 00 Buck in my DP-12. There’s no way to alternate between each tube since each feeds into its own barrel.
 
But only 100 rounds before the KSG started getting difficult to manage? That’s seems extremely low. I’ve dumped well over a hundred shells through the DP-12 in one go and it was fine. I’ve never even cleaned it before.
 
And yeah, I’ve seen the TS-12, not in person though.

Going through my ammo purchases, it was around 250 rounds before it started feeling a bit “sticky”. Granted I’m perhaps overplaying how hard you have to work the slide (plus the fact that I have T-rex arms), but realistically a bit of a wipe with some CLP and it was running like new again. Took all of 5 minutes including disassembly / reassembly.
