Ha, fair enough. My KSG has one tube + the chamber with 000 buck ready to go, the other has slug rounds. Figured because the gun can do it, it’d be in my best interest to diversify what I could send downrange if necessary. I’d need a lot of time with the DP-12 to get over the habit of racking the action after every shot, lol.
That is one drawback of the KSG that I don’t hear talked about often: after a while you need to yank on the slide like it owes you money and slam that thing back forward with some gusto (cleaning solves the problem, but it surprisingly intolerant of being run super dirty. I’d say mine got antsy with me around ~100 rounds fired before I cleaned it and had it running fine again). The heavy recoil comes up each time it’s mentioned (and for good reason, it
is a very light gun before you fill it up with shells) but I’m a bit surprised people don’t talk about it not liking running dirty. Then again, I don’t think there’s all that many people dumb enough to mag-dump it several times in a row.
Have you seen the new Tavor TS12? That thing looks slick as hell. If I can get my hands on one to demo it, that might replace my KSG as the bedside defender.
