@Dirty Bit
Yeah, I just finished it too and I can only imagine how rough it’ll get later on.

Just wait until chapter 20. I still need to beat that one on my lunatic run.

Also as I understand it, Robin and Corrin had a little more characterization than Byleth despite being Avatars.

Not sure. The other sites I looked up says that FE5 is still the lowest selling, so I have no idea. Would be nice if I could find a more reliable list than the fandom wiki.

Also, the fact that Thracia only just recently got a full fan translation patch probably also doesn’t do it any favors.

I’m talking official sales, not roms. It also wasn’t release outside of Japan like the other pre-FE7 games, as well as being infamous for being hard due to leaving the player in the dark to sell more game guides.

Oh, I know. But the lack of a full fan translation until recently is probably also why many Western fans haven’t played it, as well as its reputation.
…Wait, did they actually deliberately make it hard in order to sell more game guides? I thought that was just a rumor.

Again, I’m talking official sales.
And I heard from Mekkkah that it’s possible due to how little key info the game gives you, which explains the sales (and adds scummy business practices to the list of things that Kaga did first).

So basically Kaga had little room to judge how Nintendo “treated” him considering he did a lot of those scummy things too?

I think I remember Mangs and Mekkkah talking about how Kaga’s a hard person to work with, even if they love his games. And I’m talking about stuff like “having to buy Fates three times” business practices.

Makes sense. That could be why he ended up leaving Nintendo.
And yeah, everything I hear about Fates just makes me glad I never bothered with it (though I do hear that the localization issues are slightly exaggerated even if there are still a few questionable aspects to it).

Fates is alright, though it does have more than a few story and character problems, and the “buy three times for all paths” was a bad move (I’m very thankful that TH didn’t pull that shit).

From everything I hear Three Houses is basically “Fates done right”. I’m probably going to start Three Houses soon once I get through some of my other games backlog.

One think that Fates has over TH is that the part before the path split is much smaller (I’m counting the start of story chapters start to be different, not when you choose which side you pick). Also, you’re a terrible professor in TH.

I’m looking into doing that as well after finishing up all three Fates games at some point.
@Meanlucario
That’s something I kind of don’t like, is you have to buy all three games (or get lucky when the Special Edition was at a reasonable price) in order to go through all three stories.

Yup, at least, TH didn’t do this, so that is one thing it has going for it.
