Advice for anyone planning on becoming a DM: Don’t punish your players through in-game means for out-of-game problems. This includes (and aren’t limited to) the player hoarding magical items, trying to steal the spotlight often, or trying to derail to story for no good reason. They will just see it as a challenge to defeat rather than you trying to nip a problem. Open communication and talking like mature adults is needed to help a problem player stop being a problem (or booted if they refuse to change and continue being a problem).

I was looking at the forgotten realms wiki last nightand have the Slaad always been a deconstruction of libertarians or is that more recent?

I’m going to say no, since their whole thing is chaos (since they are created from the chaotic neutral plane).

I get that, but they also have this whole theme about being fixated on their personal freedoms while also all conforming and the people at the top exploiting them and kicking the ladder out from under them ect,

I mean, the PHB describes Chaotic Neutral as caring about your own freedom above all others, which was also the case in 3.5. The slaad would embody that due to their nature, like demons chaotic evil and archons lawful good.

And what about the wiki makes you believe the latter? They tend to link the source of info, which should help understand the why a bit.

That’s a module for DMs who hate their players.

Today I discovered that Led Zeppelin instrumentals are perfect background music for D&D.

I help play-tested a module today. It was fun, but the estimated time didn’t take into account looking at all the points of interest, so we went 2.5 hours over estimate.

Okay. Lets take the boring slice of life college prom stuff and make it into ritual ground where the students are put through metric ton of hell in order to push them into suicide or murder other people in order to use their lifeforce to bring an ancient war machine back online.

Fantasy the office. Sound like palyers have to fight a eldritch ties that were controlling the CEO, HR, communication department, the one guy that being dictator of a union an goal is to turn the entire world in to mindless meat cattle through the use of a machine.
