But anyway. I personally do not mind people talking to me while I cook, as long as they don’t touch anything, don’t get in my way and don’t tell me what to do. I am a damn good cook and I need nobody to tell me how to make food.

I always tell my friends and relatives that I have no problem with people talking to me while I’m cooking, and neither I have a problem with them attempting to “improve” whatever I’m cooking.
 
Of course, they are also expected to have no problem with me serving them poorly cooked food because of the interruptions and intruding.
 
So they quickly learn to keep their maws closed and their hands away from my pots, only one person insisted to give me unwanted “advice” about cooking and I told her that if she was so wise and capable then fine, SHE had just voluntereed to do all the cooking while I walked off to play a game.
 
No more interruptions since that day, and nobody wanted to break my kitchen top etikek anymore.

I suppose it depends on who does it. I cannot bring myself to do much against impolite house guests beyond asking them to let me do my job. Family members, relatives, roommates, honorary family members, etc. are a different story, but how I react still depends greatly on who does what.  
I personally hate wasting food and badly prepared food will result into wastefulness. I’m also too passionate about cooking to let it get bad. Most people around me know by now that everything is fine when I am polite and friendly, but when I’m only polite is when they should worry.

Rice is the staple crop in your region, I presume.  
Colombian foods are not as heavy in spice as Mexican it seems. But have just as much beans.
