That could be a start.

Then by the end of 2024 do the Islam vs Volk 2 (by then Volk should be an active LW like McGregor has been after his double champ status)

IF Islam won THEN, okay he can contend for the P4P spot. Especially if he, like he said he wanted, went up a class to Welterweight to secure a double champ status.

Hope this don’t become a bad blood thing, not after all the respect they been showing pre fight and immediately post fight.

Their height difference is about the same to Goku and Vegeta so I genuinely want them to have a friendly rivalry at most, and none of the Twitter BS.

Edit: if they fused, Islam Volkanovski or Alexander Makhachev might just be the fusion that is too much for LW.

Imo Australia No Khabib is still the one to make. We need to know if Makhachev is the real deal or is he disabled without Khabib and Hometown advantage.

BUT, if Volk puts up the same kind of opposition to a fully specc’d Makhachev with AbuDhabi + Khabib + Hasbullah buff then Volk is the biggest gigachad.

Either way I want the rematch.

Yeah most likely.
That’d make both Islam and Volk be like “so what the hell was all that for?!”

Islam lost a lot of his credibility as the invincible fighter, Volk lost his 12 win streak, Volk didn’t get the LW belt and Islam didn’t get the #1 p4p and later Volk most likely gonna get shafted to #2 and Islam at #3 after Jones beat Gane.

Which is why all this post-fight drama between the two camps seem stupid. None of it would matter once Jon Jones and Conor McGregor enter the active roster once again.

When he landed them big shots nobody cheered so yeah ppl missed that. Big knees, big counter straight, solid body kick–but Volk was just one stoic tank. Islam got visibly rocked more times than Volk did and we know Islam threw solid ones.

Islam’s counters and his takedown threats is why barely anyone landed anything on him up to this point, having a strike absorbed rate of .8 per minute, one of the lowest in LW.

Volk was just a different beast entirely for completely nullifying Islam’s grappling offense, thus taking away most of the fear factor from the Dagestani.

If both Islam and Volk got a Zenkai Boost from such a competitive fight, their respective divisions is gonna be have to work real hard.

24yo noob champ vs 39yo UFC veteran. This totally feels like Scott Coker feeding Henderson to the newly crowned Champ to raise his stock but I expect a good fight nonetheless.

16-0 vs 30-11 sounds like a mismatch but ok fine.

I’ve been hearing alot of rumors of a Whittaker vs. Chimaev fight on May, if it happens then it’s totally a bullshit fight.

We don’t even know what weight class will he be. Rob would be a terrible match up for Chimaev.

BREAKING NEWS: Per report MMA & UFC Community - LowKick MMA, a UFC internal investigation is being conducted, surrounding the IV use by, Islam Makhachev, for rehydration prior to his UFC 284 matchup against Alexander Volkanovski. Should the investigation prove misuse of IV rehydration techniques, Makhachev will face a 2 year suspension and will be stripped of his lightweight title, with his W at UFC 284 being changed to a NC.

I’m gonna switch to Bellator at the moment. F this UFC drama.
IMO fighters are the least accountable for this kinds of politics. Their team are the ones totally responsible to check if their methods fall within the country’s rules–heck, even UFC itself could be the one fucking up. Australia don’t even allow SAUNA or them sweat jacket ffs, which is allowed in other places.
