I've got my eye on a firetruck near the restaurant where I'm hold up, although mechanics is at 2 so I'm hunting an Under Hood and a welder/acetylene torch in the meanwhile.(picked up an oxygen tank at the one house near me and welding goggles on some zombie food an NPC who tried to kill me so theres that :D)

In experimental, i expected a airstrip to be filled with zombies. It had zero, so i got free acetylene torches
went back home and just read my classified military documents on bionics

@Slingring
:D

I managed to get a welder from a house a fair bit away from where my base is. Found a free revoler on a corpse in the bathtub of a locked bathroom, got held up by another NPC…. Seriously guys calm down how am I supposed to make a faction camp if all of you are all so angry :P.

I'm playing the stable release, was playing 0.c with a small horde of mods, then I saw that 0.e got magic integrated and wanted to check it out, glad I did! :D

… anything good in the current experimental? well aside from airships that is heh:P

In the experimental it adds a few things
-new recipes and items
-hypovolemia and blood loss
-longer crafting times
-blaze's vehicle mod
-new senario's
-difficult combat
-proficiency for crafting that you can learn (bowery, welding, soldering)

@Slingring
New recipes are always good :D

Bloodloss mechanics + harder combat… means getting into scraps with the nastier monsters needing more careful planning…

The proficiency mechanics seem interesting too…
Breaking fabrication down into smaller skills?

I'm gonna need to check these out! :D
So what's going on in ur cataclysm?
I'm trying to figure out how to get my beat up firetruck half way across town so I can modify into a true Deathmobile!

On terms of fun things and silly things, i cleared this spider infested library with nothing but .22 CB and Ratshot. i think theyre too OP based on irl examples.

@Slingring
.22 rounds + Ruger 10/22, if it's not made of metal it's dead well deader!

In other news I got ambushed by a plunger…I saw the 'p' and had safemode off: assumed the worst heh :P

I'm now getting my Brute MKI (the firetruck) all set and ready to leave Presscott and to the HUGE city nearby! but first I want to check out the train station nearby :D

@Slingring
The experimental is a lot of fun…zombies seem a fair bit smarter and tougher.
I haven't had as many first day deaths since the first time I played :D
I've currently got a survivor held up on top of a dollar store waiting for nightfall to move so somewhere safer.

Yeah I'm gonna need help with installing the tileset…. currently using the chibiUltaI think that's what it's called? set

@UmbraPone1
Installing the set should be easy, did you get it off of their GitHub? If so just download as a zip and uncompress it. Open your files wherever CDDA is stored and click on gfx and drag the files in there

Done! :D… although I get this error message and when trying to load a world cataclysm crashes

It seems to be an issue with a multitile object not being declared properly in the tileset's indexer…I suspect an issue when I downloaded it may be the culprit behind that though…my internet connection has been kinda bad so I will try again when my connection's a bit more stable

Although I did manage to start porting my mecha mod over.

This is the 'Light Mech' it's a 1.3 ton diesel powered engine of doom! It mounts a m249 and mk19 grenade launcher although true it's name it's got 0 armour aside from it's reinforced windshield and it's built on a regular frame with stow boards under the guns which are above it's legs .

Right now I've got the 'light' legs and the smallest mech modded in.
I've got plans for their weapons and other parts to be added later.

Ahhh sorry for the wall'o text!
How fairs things on your side of the cataclysm? :D

@UmbraPone1
Ah, i dunno bout the error. Never got it before, and nice mech. I never bothered with experimenting with cars much. I found the style of just driving around with the vehicle utilities just bland and boring.
My prominent character died, after being assaulted by a bunch of spec op zeds at a FEMA camp

@Slingring
I typically just use the ups+ solar panels on my welder and small vehicles as a way to haul my loot around. Sometimes if I find a tank or some other beasty with a good gun I fix them up as best I can and go on rampage through the town with em till they run out of ammo
…although death by tank-shell is one of my survivors' leading causes of death :D

Ooo FEMA camps are death traps…
I usually only hit them if I've got a couple of NPCs and a grenade launcher with me to help wittle the hordes down.

My current character and the only one to have survived more than an hour is a 'battle angel' who is on a long exodus out of the city I spawned in…. the zeds are way better at tracking than I'm used to which has made things interesting …they don't seem to be able to handle z level travel though…

My character is doing fine, got proficient at lockpicking cause i found a prison. Gonna make a boat to explore the lake though, (my character is a mechanic, and freshwater research stations sometimes spawn with barely any enemies and lots o good loot for diving)

Kinda always wanted to do a Fallout Equestria style thing with cdda as base so I'm testing cataclysm's flexibility with it's jsons…

Currently I found you you can give a survivor any mutation via the traits keyword in the professions file; so I made them a herbivore and a savant and called them a pony…faked the items in the image but I'm using them as a blueprint of sorts.

I want see what happens when I start fiddling with the anatomy file…

The rest (if I can get away with giving them a tail and turning the arms into front legs) should mostly be cosmetic
(backpack→ pair of saddlebags,
gloves → foreleg socks) and minor adjustments…
like adding hayburgers and making the mutations make sense like
hooves → cloven hooves
Character customization(hair and beards at least) seem to work the same and has sprite support which'll help a lot

After that I think adding mlp villian factions in and modifying the zombies into pony zombies…and obviously getting a tileset created to make all this make a bit more sense when playing:D
