She shows explicit interest in a guy in the second episode of the series but after that she doesn’t show that level of interest in a guy again in all the episodes of the series I’ve watched so far.

Just finished episode 4 of The Owl House. Really great episode.

I love how the episode serves not just as character development for Eda, but also King. After the first three episodes which focused on the world building and Luz doing stuff, it was a nice change of pace to focus on a couple of the major characters.

The interactions between Luz, Eda, King, and Hooty reminds me of the scenes in Cowboy Bebop that take place on the ship. It has almost this conversational tone about it that really sucks you in. I can’t say enough good things about this show. I’m really excited to see how the show continues.

Just finished episode 7 of The Owl House. Absolutely loved it.

First off, I love the scene where Amity reads a book to children. It instantly humanizes her and makes her endearing. It reminded me of the scene in Toradora where Taiga, who for the bulk of the series is grumpy and agitated, is shown that every year she does something nice to orphans. It is such a great way to make jerk characters likable. Whoever came up with that scene with Amity deserves a gold star.

Second, I like the introduction of Amity’s siblings. I was wondering how they were gonna develop Amity’s character because even though I haven’t seen the show, I know what ends up happening with her, which is why I started watching the show to begin with. And the way they go about is pretty clever. Again, it reminds me of Toradora in that Taiga is antagonistic and as we go on we learn it’s because of her difficult family life. It’s a great way to sympathize with those type of characters while not making their previous behavior out of character.

So far, I will say my favorite has probably been episode 5, as I thought that had the perfect balance of world building, furthering the plot, character advancement, and comedic moments. However, if that is my favorite episode of the first seven I watched, episode seven is my second favorite.

And yeah, no surprise here. Amity is my favorite. I love jerk with a heart of gold characters. Hell, I even wrote two books each 100,000 words entirely revolving around those characters. They are my jam, and Amity is amazing.

Considering the target demo the show is aiming for, they’d probably won’t have Spider-Man out of NYC. The most you can expect is BP’s supporting cast to show up in a special episode or them using a BP antagonist just once.

That’s just my guess.
