Statler and Waldorf were the original hate-watchers. And they were top-tier hate-watchers, since they paid to get into every show they hate-watched.

Just watched the first episode of the new Animaniacs.
 
Now that is how you do a reboot!
 
And they haven’t lost their touch of sneaking in adult humor that would fly past the kids’ heads either. They even made a joke subtly alluding to internet porn.

I remember Tiny Toon Adventures (back in the ‘90s, mind you) made a reference to the notorious stalker of Tress Macneille. (Voice of Babs Bunny & Dot Warner.)

Just in general. At one point the Brain asks Pinky if he knows what people use the internet for the most, and Pinky replies yes. But he also says he can’t say what because their show’s audience is watching.

Who knew gulf slappy was so timely.

I’m currently on Season 4 Episode 7. And some of Double Trouble’s decision making really baffles me.
 
For starters, why didn’t Double Trouble change from Flutterina to Glimmer and while the real Glimmer is away, confess to everyone that she’s responsible for the sabotage? Basically frame Glimmer. That seemed like a no brainer. Also, why did Double Trouble reveal their identity after getting captured? Couldn’t Double Trouble have just shape shifted into someone else without giving their identity away?
 
I really like Double Trouble. I think they add a nice winkle to the story. I just question some of Double Trouble’s decision making.

Truthfully, even if that was admittedly the “jumping the shark” moment for “Pinky and the Brain,” (something even the themesong/intro basically said, obviously the makers didn’t wanna pair them with her, but were forced to) I honestly still enjoyed it.  
I remember one ep’, even had a few funny Jurassic Park nods, and brought back Baloney the friendly dinosaur. So they still tried to make it enjoyable for what it is.

I liked it,I even liked Elmyra,but,I have to ask…why? Who? Who was it that liked Elmyra so much that this happened?  
It’s such a strange situation.

I dunno, some rumors suggest it was the WB execs, or TV Network people, and some rumors state executive producer Steven Spielberg was a huge Elmyra fan, but nothing is concrete confirmed.
 
I guess putting them with Tiny Toons’ “Female Elmer Fudd” was pretty random. It’d be like making a show where Beavis & Butthead move in with Hank Hill. (Actually, that’d be funny. “Ah’m ganna kick yer asses!” “Huh huh Huh… he said ass.”)

I read an interview once with J. Michael Straczynski about Real Ghostbusters. He said something I always remembered,“The show was popular,so the network knew we had done something wrong”. Or something like that.  
The composer of the X-Men theme also said about the theme being remixed in the last season,“People have to meddle,I guess.”  
I’m guessing it was a situation like that.

Executive-meddling is pretty common, and notorious. Sometimes it actually can help a show, (Applejack was ganna headbutt trees originally, which would’ve looked sillier) but can sometimes kill a show too.
 
Some cartoons even poked fun at executive meddling like in “Garfield & Friends.”

Lupo the Butcher is getting a series on Netflix.

It’s nice that Danny Antonucci is getting work, but I don’t see how you can make something like Lupo the Butcher, which consists only of a guy cussing and bleeding to death, into a series.

Sounds like fun to me.

Funny how that, and Back to the Future 2 predicted the rise of tablets/touchscreens.
 
I never thought as a kid someday I’d be able to play Castlevania Symphony on my phone. (And yes, I have the “official” version.)
