Bee Gees - You’ll Never See My Face Again, Black Diamond, Edison, Suddenly, Whisper Whisper and Never Say Never Again
From the British-Australian Pop/rock band’s 1969 masterpiece “Odessa”, an over 1-hour long presentation of Progressive pop with prominent symphonic elements mixed with psychedelia and the odd touch or two of Country rock. A challenging but very rewarding listen.
The Gibb brothers (Barry, Maurice and Robin) were born in Douglas, in the British Crown Dependancy of the Isle Of Mann. They then moved to Manchester in England as kids before eventually settling into the state of Queensland in Australia. After a couple of albums originally released exclusively in Australia, they recorded the psychedelic album “Bee Gees 1st” (As in first major album) back in England, where they soon became Pop sensations. They became Disco darlings late into the next decade before settling into a more adult contemporary format for the rest of their career.
R.I.P to: Maurice (d. 2003), Robin (d. 2012) (both passed away in 2003 and Colin Petersen (Australian drummer who played with the band in the 60s. d. 2024)
