Uhm … well, you and I have spoken too, so … let’s not link to conversations on other sites, ok?
What happens on DA stays on DA. I see the link doesn’t go anywhere, so no harm done, but let’s leave stuff from other sites on other sites. Doing anything else too quickly starts feeling like DOXing.
And whether someone should or shouldn’t go to a therapist is really their own call. We can SUGGEST that they might benefit from it. But HOW they benefit from it has a lot to do with why they seek therapy.
For me, I use a therapist like I use a car mechanic. Others use therapists like clergy, or friends, or doctors …
Personally, I think that everyone could benefit from spending some time talking to a professional, if only because it might help make them more effective or give them more beneficial coping mechanisms. I mean, I see a therapist periodically just to get a new baseline for how I’m dealing with stress. It’s like getting a massage - sometimes you don’t know you’re carrying stress in your shoulders until it’s gone.
But whether or not to see a therapist - and how to USE a therapist yourself - that’s really a personal decision.

Because when it used to be at the beginning it was a pain in the ass and people just fast forwarded past it.
And it interfered with the licensing and trademarking that is supposed to be happening there - by law - and unintentionally fucked with some of the ‘how this is supposed to be done’.
Also it didn’t matter where the warning was. The law is the law whether you’re warned about the law or ever informed of it.
Plus how do you do that on DVDs and BlueRays? It’s just a chapter to skip. And streaming? Now you get into SUPER weird spaces, because TIVO is not necessarily illegal, or is it? Isn’t it exactly the thing the FBI is warning against?
And there opens the gates of hell.
So it’s better it is out of there. It messed everything up and was largely self-defeating.
