So yesterday I got a statement from my medical services provider for the out of pocket of the MRI I got earlier. My insurance said it would cover 85% of the $2900 (i’d pay around $500 ).
So imagine my surprise when the bill was almost $1900. I checked and my insurance denied the claim because some questions about if it was work related weren’t answered (which would be the hospital’s fault). I answered the questions and hopefully it’ll be reconsidered, or I’m in trouble (right now my bank account and HSA combined aren’t enough to cover it).

This is because a real artist has to be a little insane, they need to have strong ideals outside of basic biological needs. If you only draw to eat, and you only draw what consumers want, you’re working more than making art. Boy are this AI artist working.

Someone who doesn’t understand art will just gravitate to whatever causes one of their biological drives to tick the most, and likely not understand the nuance. Artists struggle themselves to find what they want to add to the world, but how much horse futa do we need?

God I’m so tempted to commission more artists and it’s eating me up, but I want to wait until I take out my rent money and get paid before I can do that. It’s like I’m suffering from withdrawal symptoms of impulse buying commissions.

Anime Banzai’s final convention is kinda depressing, TBH. It’s not as busy as it was in the past (possibly due to it initially being canceled before announcing its final con.)

At least there’s still Isekai in the spring and Salt Lake FanX next September.

Okay maybe I just am not understanding the issue here. WHAT do ppl mean by DEI in gaming, anyway? What exactly is the context? In what form, and it what way? I’m genuinely flabbergasted because I’m out of the loop.

Video Games (VG) are the way there are with their myriad of colors shape and form is because VGs is the wild west for new ways to express and explore ideas, concept and themes that other forms of media just couldn’t, due to VGs providing an interactive, audiovisual experience that with VR tech, could elevate that experience to a new level.

VGs have become so varied with a tens of genres each with loads of subgenres and cross-genres precisely BECAUSE they are diverse, and they allow inclusion, where taboos are discussed and broken. Where niche ideas could be presented in niche ways.

My negha– it was because of video games being diverse and inclusive and taboo-breaking (and also due to subversive nerd culture in general) that you now have goon materials with little clothing and 14yo anime girls with bazooka tits and jiggle physics, to be NORMAL and acceptable on screen and for you to consume guilt-free.

We’re not talking VGs as tech demo or ways to hone programming skills, a proof of concept, a simulation to a hypothesis.

We’re talking VGs as a consumer product, meant for profit, targeting people (with money to spare) who are just looking to satiate their need for a stimulus that satisfy their “needs,” whatever they may be.

In that case, Maybe I’m starting to see it.

I really hope that I don’t start developing seasonal allergies again. I already had to deal with the worst allergies of my life earlier this year when winter changed to spring which lasted for about a month and a half, I REALLY don’t want to experience that again for the transition from summer to autumn

I do think forced diversity can negatively impact art, but for a simple, non racist reason.

The more heads that gets into any art project, the more the art project has to be marketable. There is people willing to pay money to see more minorities in art, and sometimes thats a thing the art can allow.

Money can turn art into work when its underlying message is undermined by filling in check boxes for marketing. It can turn an idea into a stylized business venture.

AI happens to be relavant, because a robot is able to turn money directly into art. It still needs artistic guidance, but to be able to draw effortlessly like me takes years of practice. So now we have people who don’t have a developed visions to be heads in the art space, you can expect things to get a little repeatative.

The more people involved, the more art becomes a job. It cannot be crazy, inspired and controversial if it has to feed a bunch of people.
