It is a real word yes. That used to mean someone from a particular generation whose beliefs, voting habits, and life style fit into certain patterns based on a changing socioeconomic system that saw them grow to maturity in a time of relative prosperity.
 
What it has become now is anyone’s guess.

The wireless dongle I use for my PC decided to randomly break yesterday. It was fine, now it’s not, and I had to spend $20 to replace the damn thing at a time when I really don’t need to be spending money.

If I hadn’t been discouraged from doodling years ago, I could be at the point where I would open commissions or get art trades done with BadgerBen. But nooooooooo, my parents needed me to focus on finishing school.
