I’m not gonna lie, but everyone who dismissed Etika’s breakdowns and responded with memes or saying he was “seeking attention”? They’re responsible for this. They’re the reason he’s gone.

There is a thing called the “crying wolf” effect you know. If he did this multiple times, as in dozens, then its no wonder they thought that this was an attention grabbing stunt. It turned out they were wrong since they couldn’t have known whether or not his breakdowns were real or not.

When people assume that he was doing it for attention it doesn’t matter if they knew if he had mental issues or not. That assumption will stick because of his actions. Since he did have mental issues why didn’t he get help or his friends and family intervene? All it takes is the perception of false alarms and people will disregard any problems you may have and assume you are only doing it for attention. That’s what the crying wolf effect is. Doing alarming stuff and when it becomes apparent that nothing happened later episodes will be disregarded as attention seeking behavior regardless if the person has mental problems or not. That is how human behavior works.

This. If he clearly was mentally unsound and was put in a mental hospital then he also should have had medications to keep his mental instability in check. But from what we have seen it seems he didn’t take them or he was mistakenly given a clean bill of health. Either way it led to his death by suicide. Those that egged him on should be punished tho especially if they knew he had mental health issues.
