I don't know much about pain, but I do know a lot about 'mental injuries' where people have depression and poor motor control until something gets fixed or moved past in their head.
Phychedelics are being researched for stuff like obsessions and persistent rumination, but they also make people run in front of traffic, and i'm not a doctor.
