That said I absolutely can’t stand the use of They/them pronouns.
not because of the identity but because of the grammar nightmare that using those words as pronouns creates. with all of the other exipronouns I can generally follow along with what your typing out. but with they them it just creates too many sentence breakdowns.
“They” is already a pretty standard pronoun arrangement besides gender. It’s typically also used as a formal pronoun or even as a pronoun to refer to something of an unspecified identity.

“It” is also already a pronoun people chose to go by

I’ll be honest, I feel like it’s too early to say Pokemon franchise has went downhill when Legends ZA hasnt even come out yet.
Like it was understanable before ZA came out to be worried for the future, I mean we could have had another Lets Go.
But I think theres also a high chance since Legends Arceus was quite well recieved that Legends ZA will have a good chance of continuing that high point.
It’s possible that SV was a sort of experimental phase and they may have learned valuable on making open world games.
I just feel like we dont need to be too pessimistic about Pokemon.

I dunno going off the sales numbers and the games are still pretty strong. They’re not going to be asking any changes any time soon.
What perhaps you should do is do a bit of self introspection and decide if perhaps you have overgrown the games and should move on.

I mean I haven’t played the new games but it does seem they are experimenting with new ideas. They’re not just doing the same old thing. They are definitely experimenting. Sometimes for the worse like with Scarlet being glitchy. But there’s also stuff to like that game too. And I think if they try to figure out what works and doesn’t work they might having pretty fun.
I certainly think TPC is far better than say Ubisoft or Activision not counting their copyright obsession of course.

I’ll be honest I felt a little guilty I didn’t play “serious” rpgs like Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy VII and only Pokemon. Thinking they had more complex themes and gameplay.
But be that as it may, Pokemon still manages to give some interesting themes of man’s relationship with nature and a simple but easily expandable gameplay loop that can’t be replicated with any other game.
I still want to play other JRPGs but I also know that Pokemon has its own appeals besides just being “kid’s first rpg”.
Where else can you can that chill vibe wandering the landscape?

Pokemon is a softer RPG, with the R being more team-building than in-game choices. And I think Monster Hunter does the humanity and nature thing better personally.

Funny enough Pokemon Mystery Dungeon unlike the more niche Mystery Dungeons, the thing that stands out is not just the storytelling but also you can get different members pokemon on your team.
The team aspect seems to be one of Pokemon’s greatest features.
Though in Pokemon’s defense, I like the harmonious bond between you and your pokemon. That’s something I find charming
